Another Olive Birthday Party

Earlier this week I came down with some virus. It was horrible. I hadn't been this sick in a long time. I even missed two days of work. So Scott wouldn't catch my germs and listen to me coughing all night he had been sleeping in the guest room. Meadow only had me to wake up in the morning.  Meadow and I had breakfast while Scott slept. I love sleeping in. Olive's birthday party was today. Meadow picked out a cupcake picture to color for her. She was really excited to color the cherry red. Then was really excited to color the whole thing red. She kept saying, "Olive is going to love this!" She's also getting better at staying in the lines. She does the same thing on an iPad coloring game. I'm still not feeling great after being sick. Meadow and I read books in bed. I came up with a meal list for the week. I was super proud of using so many items that we had laying around the kitchen. Every week I take inventory on all...

Watching Paint Dry

Scott worked his morning shift. Again (grr). I have breakfast alone. Again. If this keeps up I may need to start a side blog about cleaning, because today I did just that.  I started with cleaning out our built-in bench storage. When Scott brought back a bunch of things from his parents/grandparents this summer he took with him these giant *** speakers. Not only are they huge they take over the bench not allowing easy access to the storage units. They're awesome, but I might get rid of them soon. Pretty clever craftsmanship they had back then.  It turns out nothing was in this one. Hmm now that I'm thinking about it this would be a good place to keep all my yarn. The other one had some cords and Peanut.    I also found more blankets and flue cleaner.  We wanted to use this to clean the chimney, but it's probably best that we hire a professional. Since that went quickly I decided to tackle our breakfast nook stor...

T-minus 2 Months to Wedding

The second week proved to be more of a challenge for our local month. We are starting to crack down on wedding plans. We both bought our wedding attire from the Mall of America. I did feel a little guilty about that. I had originally wanted to buy my dress from a vintage store. I have been looking since we got engaged (even before that) and everything I found wasn't in my size or a style I liked.  Then we bought some candles at Target while doing our registry. Scott bought lunch at Jimmy John's.  All our groceries have been local. At least we're still good about that. Scott was in southern Minnesota yesterday shooting a wedding. I didn't think he was going to come back that night and scared me when he got home.     My sister's wedding is coming up in 2 weeks and I get the honor of making the cake. I tested out different cake recipes.  While Scott made pancakes.   We started out eating by each other. ...
