This Puzzle Just Never Ends (Plus More Bread!)

I got off Sunday for the second week in a row. While we both got up at about the same time, Brooke took forever to get dressed. I think she has too many outfits to choose from. Once up I fry some salami to go in this week's bread. We hadn't made ebelskivers in long time. We filled them chocolate chips and jam that we got from our friends Ben and Jordan. It feels like just yesterday that they stopped by post-Christmas with their cat Galaxy. Hopefully we can visit them in Seattle in the next year or so. No those aren't chocolate ebelskievers they weren't turning well and started burning. Since we were having problems with the 'skivers we decided to finish up with some waffles.   Scott plans out meals for our grocery list while I clean up the kitchen. It's great to see our mixer back in action. I fixed it midway through the previous week. I meant to take photos of the repair process, but forgot. Then Scott got star

The Anniversery of Olive's Birth

No work for Scott today, so no rushing to eat breakfast.   Seeing as I had the day off for Olive's birthday bash, I got up and made us french toast. I could've cooked the toast for a bit longer. And then I moved on to a different sort of work. A few days earlier Scott noticed our laundry sink was leaking. When he went to investigate he saw the entire bottom was rusting. The night before we bought a new sink to replace it.  Kind of sad to see this old thing go. The original sink is still in our basement taking up space under the stairs.  This old sink had the pipes that connect the laundry machine to supply line. The new plastic tub, did not. For the next two hours I worked on cutting out the pipes that went through the back of the Homart.  While he was doing that I made food for Olive's birthday party. Emma is trying an elimination diet this month of eating no gluten, sugar, nightshades, beans or rice. I made a treat that she could e

Happy Birthday Blog!

Even though I started this blog on my own as a way to rant  during the first year I met Scott. We saw each other for only 3 months during that time. Back then it was called Wisconsin is for Lovers. I didn't really write in it as often, sometimes it was months apart. I did try out the photo diary part back in 2007 . And only kept going with it a few more times after that. Again sometimes months apart. But it was this weekend a year ago that we started doing it every week. I can't believe it's been 1 year already. It's funny to look back at the crappy photos that were used when we first started doing this. Scott didn't even partake until March. I love being able to look back at our photos and I sometimes refer to things that happened this past year by the title of the blog post that day. Happy 1st Birthday Minnesota is for Wisconsin Lovers!

Sushi Sunday Returns

Today I woke up before Scott and surprised him by making big pancakes. I was so excited, but I had to take a quick shower first. He didn't know I was making breakfast and woke up too late. He had to scarf it down before heading to work. I'm not going to complain that Scott had to work on a Sunday again. Yea it sucks, but I need to be more thankful that he has a job. It may not be the best he's had or the worst and the pay isn't phenomenal, but life isn't always fair. Instead of dwelling on the things I don't like I need to be more happy about the things in life that are great.  After he left I spent time on-and-off working on this puzzle. It's a lot easier to see the many colors when the suns out. I think I found about 3 more pieces.  Then I ordered more seeds online . Last year we figured we had enough, but then we realized we really want to grow kale and chard and popcorn. I know it's a little early to be getting excited abo
