Duluth December Weekend: Boubville Ain't Bentleyville, But Why Not Go to Both

This year we decided to check out Daniel's avant garde Christmas light display: Boubville .  We've seen the set up but never in action. Get a crowd and it takes on a totally different vibe. Plus I don't think we've ever seen all the lights and displays on at the same time. There was even a ball pit with hidden prizes. A few of the other kids activities for the first night were canceled due to frigid temps. The winter beach was magical. A great use of the boob lights.

It's Not Feeling at Lot Like Christmas (Outside)

The kids and I had some errands to run. We always have candles at dinnertime during the dark months. Our big beeswax candle that we had for about 10 years finally got used up so it was time to get another. We stopped at the new Foundry Home Goods location. The kids wanted a shaped candle, we ended up going with the tree.  They also loved looking at all the little wooden animals.  I never thought of knitting jute to make a scrubbing pad. I'm totally doing this.

Another Romenesko Christmas

I'd never ate Spam. I was afraid, but I persevered. It actually tastes a lot like canned corned beef in loaf form. I woke up not feeling so great and returned back to bed. So Theo, Meadow, Grandpa and I watched Christmas movies and played all day. At some point Meadow came back from her cousins with a "sleigh" that she'd built with Aunt Chelsea.  My dad pretended to be Santa and Meadow Rudolph. After laying around all day Blake eventually showed up. G.G. said she was making us lasagna. I didn't realize she meant the frozen variety. It was still good. Meadow found a giant boxing glove in the basement and proceeded to punch grandpa. Meadow asked to sleep in her sleigh. And she did for the rest of the Christmas weekend. ...
