A Dog, Pride and Lake Maria

We are dog sitting Honey for a few days. Emma offered to pay us in her awesome chocolate chip cookies and New Glarus beer, so how could we refuse? Let's just say Peanut was not too thrilled with a dog in the house.

A Very Boring Sunday

Scott is out of town in his hometown of Cudahy, WI this week, so again it's just me and kitty. I went out the night before to meet up with some old friends from back home. I stayed out pretty late and slept in pretty darn late.   A lot of the food we got last week was gluten-free. I was a little skeptical about these gf oats, but they tasted like regular oats and cooked quickly. I did add raspberries to naturally sweeten it.  I replanted new seeds to the squares that didn't survive the transplants. Hopefully the garden will be full by end of summer. I was worried today was going to be pretty lame with me just tackling my to do list. I had started reorganizing my baking cabinet when I recieved two text mesages asking me to cross the river over to St. Paul. I met up with same crowd from the night before at Burger Moe's for lunch. I totally wasn't thinking (must still not be quite awake yet) and didn't take any photos during lunch. I

Why We Need a Freezer

We went out the night before to another party a few weeks back. This time Scott went out to a bar afterwards (I went home) and then decided soon after he got there to walk home. In his drunkenness he forgot to set his alarm and was almost late for work. While he was at work I did some cleaning. I did make it to work on time. The tweet above is the last of that night, thankfully. West Broadway was desolate at the late hour. Now that I've walked, nee stumbled, the entire North Minneapolis stretch of Broadway at that time, I have no fear of my side of town. I finally got around to washing all of our winter clothing after Scott went to work. Yup oatmeal again this week. Scott wanted big pancake, but neither of us got up on time. We finished planting our garden this past week too. It will be interesting to see how much it grows each week. I also planted sunflowers all along the edge of the fence. All but 10 squares have something growing in it. We also put in an he

The End of the Cheese Weekend

We met up with Amanda and Cevonne at Starbucks on Saturday night. I miss those girls. It was fun hanging out with them. They're Brooke's two best friends and we do not see them nearly enough. They even made Starbucks palatable for this hipster. Blake and Scott went back to Cheesefest later that night to finish off our last beer ticket. I stayed home because I was tired, but apparently the second night was more fun.  I'm going to call this photo "American Awkward".  We were lucky enough to have two day passes, so there was no reason not to go a second day. I'm shooting a wedding in a few weeks, so I wanted to test my flash photography skills. I'd prefer to shoot everything using natrual lighting, but at times that's impossible. I think these photos turned out pretty well. This night wasn't as fun as the first night, though I did enjoy the multitude of cock rock classics.    Nothing like photographing unsuspe
