Redgranite Cabin Camping, Waushara County Fair and Meeting Baby Viola

This weekend we were going to stay at my grandpa's log cabin. Instead of driving straight to the cabin we stopped for the night at my parents house. Theo still loves to sleep in the crib.  I thought we could go see our new baby niece. But tbh, I just wanted to stay home for two weekends in the summer. No one really listens to me around here, so I caved in going to the hunting land. Whenever I come home there's always things for me to look through. Like this box of old toys. I found my whole collection of pogs that the kids insisted on taking home.  On July 13th our niece Viola was born. Since we were coming to Wisconsin we had to stop to meet her.   I thought having my own kids would make me comfortable holding babies but it's still scary.

Namekagon River Camping

Scott has been wanting to go canoe camping on the St. Croix for a few weeks.  More like a few years. Brooke decided on the windier Namekagon River branch of the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway. We thought about going last weekend, but I was thinking it might be busy because of the 4th.  We convinced Blake and Daniel to join us so we would have one car for drop off and one car for pickup. We met Blake at at the Riverside Landing, picked him up and met Daniel at our starting point at the County Road K Landing in Trego.  Since we started in the evening we only went 5 miles before picking our campsite for the night. We chose campsite 29.7. Campsites are free and first come first served.  It was a nicely wooded site but had lots of poison ivy. We would find out that would always be the case. Basically don't venture into the woods.

Wisco Caves, An Apple Fest near Appleton, Bay Beach and a Nephew Dedication Weekend

Thursday My sister invited us to a dedication for our nephews Harvey and Brayden. Since we hadn't been to the Fox Valley since March, we figured, why not? My dad was out of the town for the Father-Son Weekend at the cottage. My mom had to work all weekend so it was pretty quiet at home. Meadow was super excited to play with new toys before she went to bed.. Friday And  a new-to-her swing in the morning. After breakfast we decided to meet my sister Brittany at Once Upon A Child for the coat event. Meadow has tons of hand me down/gifts from Amanda coats at home. We found new winter boots for Meadow instead. Afterwards we decided to head over to Manitowoc County to check out the Maribel Caves . A former classmate of mine had been here a few weeks ago and posted photos on Facebook. I'm surprised we had never heard of this place. This area used to be a resort for tourists as far as Chicago. Because of the natural springs in the area a hotel was built f...
