RV Spring Break: Savannah to Miami

Oh, hey, we made it to Savannah. Time for a nice stroll (well, as leisurely as Brooke will allow).   I was pretty excited to be going to Savannah, even if we could only stay for a few hours. The tricky thing with having an RV is finding a place to park. The Fahm Avenue parking lot had RV spots and then we walked over to the historic district. Meadow should go to the Savannah College of Art and Design. You know, if she can get a scholarship. Savannah is just as cool in person as you think. I should have done at least one house tour. I had to embarrass Meadow with taking her photo in front of the first Girl Scout Headquarters.  Brooke got me to go into the beautiful Catholic church right in the historic district. I don't think I've ever been in a Cathedral Basilica. Usually it's one or the other. It seems like every few blocks there was a perfect square. We should build all cities like this. For lunch we went to Savannah Smokehouse . We ended up getting the sampler for 2, whi...

Mama Theo Day and the Boring House

We brought home the tag along from the cottage to use at home as Theo is finally big enough to use it. I wasn't sure if it would fit with my rack but it does! He was a big fan and loved it.  Maybe, just maybe he'll learn to ride a bike this summer. After hogging our bed it was time to wake up the sleepy bear for our last Mama Theo day.

Bay Beach and an Actual Beach

Meadow had spent the last week in the Fox Valley with her grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. We then met up with them at Bay Beach. My parents were in Duluth last weekend and picked her up on their way home.    First ride: Theo and I on the helicopters. Scott isn't into this place as much he used to be, but c'mon where else can you have hours of fun for only $10?  It's still great, but some of the trees had been cut down, which made me sad. Also Theo isn't into the rides as much as Meadow was. Still great overall and looking forward to when they rebuild the actual beach . Grandpa and our nephew, Harvey, were getting brave on the classic ferris wheel.

Open Streets Lyndale (Mostly)

Now that its finally nice out we have started going out for family bike rides after dinner. While going around Lake Harriet, we stopped at the beach to play.

Thomas and Logging in Duluth

Thursday Scott picked me up from work so we could get to Duluth right away.  We had plans. Thomas the train was waiting for us in the Twin Ports. We decided to stop at Tobie's for dinner, we had always wanted to try this place. Meadow had been napping, normally she's okay when we wake her up, but this time she would not stop crying.  We weren't sure what to order and Meadow was just getting worse. So, we decided to spend our money in Duluth instead.

A Tuska and Torres Reunion plus Steamy Day Swimming at Cedar Lake

After breakfast Scott had to run an errand. Meadow has been picking out her clothes lately. I ask what she wants to wear and she will say dress or shorts. I asked what dress and she said butterfly.

Summa Summa Summertime

We never got Meadow a walker because we assumed she would have been walking by now. Since that's not the case we borrowed one from Emma. At first she would push it on her knees, now she seems to get the idea of walking with it.  We think she's still a while off from walking on her own.  With a bunch of potatoes and not much else in the pantry, I decided to make Spanish tortilla. I added cauliflower to add some variety to this egg, onion and potato dish.  We talked about trying out the Kingfield Farmers Market, but by the time we woke up and ate breakfast it was already noon. As we were getting our bikes ready to leave a car stopped at the end of our driveway. A guy our age got out and said his mom grew up in our house. He had come to our house for every holiday as a kid. I wished we weren't in a hurry or I would have invited him in. He was also on his way to see his grandma who was the previous owner of our home. I told him to stop by sometim...
