Al's Breakfast with Theo, We Visit Asia Mall, I Bike Around the Chain of Lakes for a Drone Shoot for a Big National Client

I don't work on Fridays, so those days are dedicated as Mama Theo days. We only have a couple more left before Meadow is out of school and then Theo will be in school in the fall. We had plans to go out for breakfast. I mentioned this to Scott the night before and he said we should go to Al's Breakfast.    The waitress gave Theo dinosaurs to play with while we waited for our food.   He sure loves his mama. I thought with the spring semester being done, and it being chilly, it wouldn't be busy but we had to wait in line for quite a bit to get a seat.  I honestly think it was pretty quick. These days they have you wait outside instead of behind the folks sitting at the counter. Was a little disappointed that the new cook had the griddle on middling temps. The pancakes aren't perfectly cooked, just seconds from burning, like they used to be. Yet it was still fun to eat there after many years.

A Valentine's Sunday and our 10th Realiversary

Of course Valentine's Day means all heart shaped food. With our windows still missing shades I woke up before my family and started breakfast.

Hot Day, Dinkytown Down

It was another late morning for us. As always Scott entertains Meadow while I eat breakfast. I already miss the days when mornings were slow and we'd have breakfasts together. I'm usually so hungry from feeding her all night I can't wait to eat. The heat was so bad, I don't think I"d cook either way.

A Como Conservatory Super Sunday

I went to bed early the night before with a bad headache. It was still there when I woke up. For once Scott got up before me to make breakfast. I made us anarchy orange-chocolate chip pancakes. Just so you know, I did not try to make that "A" on my pancake, it just happened. What a mess Scott. Well, Brooke, I was trying to put the chickpeas in the container when they went all over. I did clean it up, so no big deal. We decided to make a day of it, so I threw the chickpeas into a slow cooker. By the time we got home they'd be perfect for hummus. The weather lately has been very cold and dry. I usually get headaches when it's like this so I thought a day at the conservatory would be just what I needed. The first room we went into was so warm and humid. It was so nice, but it fogged up our lenses the whole time. Brooke got this great picture nonetheless. She later asked me, "Did you know there was a turtle in the mist?" No.....

Chicago Weekend

I headed out of town to meet up with Scott's sister (and my sister-in-law) for wedding type related things in Chicago. We just have one car so I took the Greyhound down to Illinois. I hadn't been to Chicago in years, I was pretty excited to be going.   The trip takes one quick stop at a McDonalds. I ran over to the nearest gas station and chose a different option for lunch.  That night I stayed with Katie's friend Allison and this pretty little miss. They drove an hour just to pick me up from the bus stop. What nice ladies.  Katie is having pies instead of cake for her wedding dessert. We met up at Hoosier Mama Pie Company for breakfast and tastings the next morning.  The pies were delicious and are made from scratch every morning. Funny face, Brooke! Their store is so tiny and so adorable. There were like 12 people working in the back no one was running into one another. We got a hotel at the Residence...
