The day after we got back from the cottage Theo and I went to his first Timberwolves game. He was a bit scared in the upper deck, but got used to it and loved the game. Later that week it was finally my actual birthday. An unseasonably warm end to January has meant we haven't been skating. I thought we could walk to the new restaurant I wanted to try out for my (second) birthday dinner. It felt like fall outside. The old Fuji-Ya (Minneapolis' original sushi joint) at Lyn-Lake is now Jade Dynasty and I've been wanting to try it out for weeks. The owners previously owned Hong Kong Noodles in Stadium Village and Nankin in Downtown.  We upgraded to Beef and Broccoli. We were hoping the table would have the giant turntable like at MingHin in Chicago.

I had a hotel shoot in my old stomping grounds of Brooklyn Center (worked up at the nearby Best Buy for a couple of years).  Brooke had the car so I was stuck walking somewhere for lunch.  I saw this old school Chinese place on Google Maps and thought, well, I've never been to House of Hui . Let's do that. Don't read the one star reviews. I don't think they understand a good hole-in-the-wall. This was freaking amazing. Some of the best Chinese I've ever had in Minnesota. Not quite the level of Duluth's C antonese House , but damn good. I had to finish up the second level of the backyard rink this weekend. Temps were about to dip. Theo kept himself busy with a coloring app on my iMac. I'm adding some wood chips in the deep end this year to speed up the filling process. And then in the spring we already have mulch. November 24th isn't too late for pumpkin spice pancakes, is it? We needed to get more wood chips for the rink. Luckily you can still find them ...

Thursday It had been awhile since we have been to Duluth. It was the perfect time to come up since  Duluth's All Souls Night  was this weekend.

Day 13 Another morning another new campsite. This time we drove back into Mississippi to Clear Springs campground in the Homochitto National Forest as we are taking US 61 back north. I tried to pretend I was sleeping. The little one knew better than that.

It was time once again for us to head to Wisconsin. Well, actually Detroit, Michigan via MKE. With her new hat Meadow was ready to hit the road. Our neighbors are so great. Brooke had to make sure we had everything. As you can see that's serious business. I had a coupon for a free mini concrete mixer. Scott chose an egg nog shake.  I had to something Christmas related on this ride. After arriving in Cudahy Scott picked up dinner at Tsing Tao .  This place is so damn good. Meadow snuggled into bed with Mr. Owl.
