On the Twenty-Second Day of Advent I Ate an Egg Nog Shake

It was time once again for us to head to Wisconsin.

Well, actually Detroit, Michigan via MKE.

With her new hat Meadow was ready to hit the road.

Our neighbors are so great.

Brooke had to make sure we had everything. As you can see that's serious business.

I had a coupon for a free mini concrete mixer. Scott chose an egg nog shake.

I had to something Christmas related on this ride.

After arriving in Cudahy Scott picked up dinner at Tsing Tao

This place is so damn good.

Meadow snuggled into bed with Mr. Owl.

A Solo Visit to Fergus Falls' Dairlyand and Back Home with the Fam

I had to travel to St. Croix Falls over in Wisconsin and then all the way across Minnesota in Fergus Falls to shoot a couple of hotels. After my second hotel shoot I stopped by Dairyland before heading home. This was the correct choice. I even got a little tour of the place from the owner. Pretty cool to see the old radio switch board from when they were a proper drive-in.

Katrina and Dennis's Big Day!

I don't shoot nearly enough weddings . I'm just not good at the whole marketing aspect.   The one's I end up photographing are, like this one, family or through the grapevine. This time around I'm shooting my big (little) sister's wedding to Dennis, a man I respect immensely. I got to hang out with him a few times in Chicago and then a whole week in San Jose. I really looked forward to the bachelor party with the guys and wasn't disappointed. While the women got ready and after I helped setup the venue I came back to hang with the dudes and ostensibly get dressed. As you can see above we drank some beer and booze and shot the shit. My big brother, Colin, was the officiant and was really excited for his parking pass that was included with his ordination packet. All the women involved in the wedding gathered into Katie's room to get our hair done. Olive was just there to entertain us. And the bride is ready. At some point...

Six Months, More Like Six Years

Approaching the 11th hour of this Sunday we finally rolled out of bed. Brooke and I made a night out of our six month since being married. In a way we could be celebrating six plus years together. I met the little lady above in February 2006. Now we garden together. We had a lovely night indeed: dinner at Red Stag and drinks at Aster Cafe.  I went outside to show Brooke where our new boulevard tree was going to be planted. We found a love letter in our bushes. Brooke couldn't read it, so we let it dry on one of the radiators.  The first page was mostly apologizing for not writing and then the second page turned sour with lots of swear words.  We drove downtown to eat brunch. We parked across from this rare small pre-1950s building that has somehow survived in downtown Minneapolis's ongoing urban renewal. We decided to eat at La Belle Crepe since I picked up this for our post-wedding breakfast back on that October day. This creperie is...
