End of March Stuff and Our Last Outdoor Ice Skating of 2023

After waking up I asked the kids what they were going to do today. Meadow and Theo both agreed (I didn't even have to say anything!) the living room and their bedroom needed to be cleaned. Looks like my checklists have rubbed off on Meadow.  This is truly a miracle. Good job kiddos. It's going to be weird when the kids are older and we always have a clean living room.  They'll just have pigsties in their bedrooms. After the fish died we picked up a couple more for the kids. Meet Mario and Fishy.  I tried to talk Brooke into getting a cat, but she's right that we have all the fish stuff and no cat supplies anymore. Ah, well. So proud of these kids.  After 5 days of not having a gas stove we finally found someone that fixed it for us.  With all the boards back in place, I was just putting on the finishing touches before painting.  These tongue and groove pine floors were really meant to be subfloors, but sometimes, especially in upper floors, folks wou...

2 Days of Snow Much Fun

We were home again this weekend. After a snowstorm over night we decided to play outside. I got the fun task of moving the car. There was a layer of frozen snow on top of the ice and the windows were iced over. I love this Beetle and it looks even better in the snow. We thought we'd go sledding, but the kids just wanted to play with sand toys in the snow. Theo loves eating snow and Meadow loves picking on her little brother. We took a quick walk around the block, but the wind was brutal. I guess this was as far as we were going to get. As always we promise hot chocolate when coming inside. It's the only way to get her inside sometimes. The next day we decided to go ice skating. I wanted to try the free skates instead of using my own. I had a hard time finding skates in my size. We are trying to get Theo on single blades right away. He doesn't agree with this idea. His wooden sled slid right across th...

Super Sick Weekend

When you go to the Children's Museum someone is bound to get sick. I always warn her. In this case it was all of us. We got back to back stomach bugs and colds.  Meadow and I did manage to make it out once to go to our favorite fabric store.  I'm taking on a sewing challenge of making a backpack .  After finding the exterior fabric, I had too many choices for the interior.  Meadow wanted this one. Should've went with the fries. I almost went with a flannel, but figured it would make the backpack sweaty on our backs in summer. You'll have to see when I finish what I chose.
