Super Sick Weekend

When you go to the Children's Museum someone is bound to get sick.

I always warn her.

In this case it was all of us. We got back to back stomach bugs and colds.

Meadow and I did manage to make it out once to go to our favorite fabric store.

I'm taking on a sewing challenge of making a backpack.

After finding the exterior fabric, I had too many choices for the interior.

Meadow wanted this one.

Should've went with the fries.

I almost went with a flannel, but figured it would make the backpack sweaty on our backs in summer. You'll have to see when I finish what I chose.

Backcountry Camping with Kids in Theodore Roosevelt National Park

Day 1 Back in May I stumbled upon Theodore Roosevelt National Park. I had no idea there was a National Park in North Dakota and that it was the northern end of the Badlands. Usually our summer vacations coincide with Scott's work trips. Since he didn't have any this summer I thought we should take advantage of actually taking a vacation. RV Spring Break: Las Vegas to Salt Lake City via the Utah Big 5

For Spring Break this year we relocated an RV once again. Instead of taking one of the new factory vehicles from Indiana or Iowa, we found a shorter relocation from Las Vegas to Salt Lake City. That meant the perfect route to see Utah's Big Five National Parks. As much as I like picking up new vehicles I thought it would be nice to have a shorter drive so we didn't feel as rushed. Day 1 - Las Vegas We started off our spring break trip in Las Vegas. When looking at hotels, I thought the kids would be blown away by Caesars Palace. It was somehow less than $200 a night, so why not? Scott wasn't sure about going out onto the strip at night with kids. Being that its spring break season there were other families out. And scantily clad women with their boobs hanging out. That's all hours of the day here. We'd only briefly stopped by here during the day a couple years back. Work Trip: Carlinville, Illinois and a St Louis Walk on the Hill

Every few shoots for my main client I end up somewhere I'd never heard of before. This time it was Blackburn College in quaint Carlinville, Illiniois. Apparently famous for it's chili factory and its parlor. The family friendly chili parlor faces the town square, meanwhile the Anchor Inn faces the street behind it where the chili is also served alongside beers and rail drinks. I was informed the chili comes with a kick and that was no lie. Knowing this fact I went with the chili mac and I'd do it again. Even though Carlinville is much closer to St Louis, the Anchor is definitely a Cubs bar. This town rules. After my shoot at the tiny Blackburn College I drove back to St Louis, where I'd flown into, for dinner. Well, one of the inner ring suburbs that's more urban than parts of Minneapolis.
