Yard Sales and Farmers Market Bike Rides

Today was the day for our first rummage sale. Earlier in the week I messaged our tenant to let her know we were doing this. She responded letting us know she also signed up.

It was fun hanging out with Izzy while we waited for some customers.

Theo tried to lure in customers like he worked at Little Ceasars.

The kids made chocolate chip cookies and homemade lemonade.

I think the kids were making more money than us.

We actually sold quite a bit. The kids made money on all the clothes and toys they sold. Everyone made a decent chuck of change.

Once the sale was over, we loaded everything up into our car and took it over to the Salvation Army. Wow, does it feel great to be getting rid of so much stuff.

Meadow went to a friends house so we took Theo out to eat at Orale Mexican Eats

We hadn't been there in ages. Once of our favorite taquerias in the city.

Afterwards we stopped at Kowalski's and they gave Theo a ballon.

Farmers market season is back.

The kids favorite thing about the Kingfield Farmers Market is the popsicle stand.

I wasn't expecting to get much or anything. I lucked out with some asparagus and a basil and cherry tomato seedling.

Love seeing everyone enjoying MLK park on the weekend.

We rode around the neighborhood to see if there were any good rummage sale leftovers.

I think most had been scrounged or donated since a rain storm had rolled through on Saturday night.

Brooke and Theo are so cute sometimes.

For dinner I made Navajo tacos. 10/10 would make them again.

Boundary Waters Yurt Camping

Early in the week I found out that we had a chance to stay at a yurt in the Boundary Waters . Hipcamp's an awesome new site that helps you find pretty much any campsite. Since we didn't have any plans and we could stay in Duluth halfway we took the bait. We didn't need our tent or camp pads, so we packed a little different than normal.

Stillwater Waterfall and MN River Valley Hiking

Scott had to take some sunset photos in Stillwater.  A fall color aerial 360. I hadn't been there in awhile so we tagged along. We left as soon as Meadow was done for school and headed for the St Croix Boom Site. I had heard there was a hidden waterfall and wanted to check it out. There's not a specific trail to it. From what I read you go down the stairs and take a left following the river.  I think it's an old state trail that isn't maintained and has way too much graffiti.

Six Months, More Like Six Years

Approaching the 11th hour of this Sunday we finally rolled out of bed. Brooke and I made a night out of our six month since being married. In a way we could be celebrating six plus years together. I met the little lady above in February 2006. Now we garden together. We had a lovely night indeed: dinner at Red Stag and drinks at Aster Cafe.  I went outside to show Brooke where our new boulevard tree was going to be planted. We found a love letter in our bushes. Brooke couldn't read it, so we let it dry on one of the radiators.  The first page was mostly apologizing for not writing and then the second page turned sour with lots of swear words.  We drove downtown to eat brunch. We parked across from this rare small pre-1950s building that has somehow survived in downtown Minneapolis's ongoing urban renewal. We decided to eat at La Belle Crepe since I picked up this for our post-wedding breakfast back on that October day. This creperie is...
