A Demolished House Tour of Linden Hills

We didn't do much this weekend and put off our next old home tour.

A super smokey/hot weekend ruined any outdoor plans we had. So instead I prepped my boots for winter.

All ready for winter.

I might as well knock out all the things that have been on my to-do list forever. Like washing my fanny pack.

It got decent enough outside to do another one of my self-guided tours on Monday night. This time took us to the old Cottage City of Linden Hills.

Sadly a majority of the homes had been knocked down or remodeled so much it was hard to tell the age of the house.

But this house rather cool. Though it needs a fresh coat of paint.

The neighbor house had a similar aesthetic.

Looks like we missed one of the homes by just a couple months.

Seemed fitting since so many other homes were long gone.

Stillwater Waterfall and MN River Valley Hiking

Scott had to take some sunset photos in Stillwater. A fall color aerial 360. I hadn't been there in awhile so we tagged along. We left as soon as Meadow was done for school and headed for the St Croix Boom Site. I had heard there was a hidden waterfall and wanted to check it out. There's not a specific trail to it. From what I read you go down the stairs and take a left following the river. I think it's an old state trail that isn't maintained and has way too much graffiti.

Yardwork, Ikea and Pumpkins

My new parents-in-law got us a dehydrator for the wedding. Knowing we were going to be cleaning up the garden and going to farmer's market, we took a gander at our millionth kitchen device during breakfast. Scott added granola to his oatmeal. The oatmeal was rather bland, just the way Brooke likes it. Scott was actually cleaning up so I had to take a quick photo of him as proof. Scott told me he was, "putting a blanket down for Peanut," while singing. During the winter months peanut needs a warm place to peer through the window. Seeing as it was nearly November, I setup his blanket for him. Seeing as the farmers market season is dwindling down, we headed to the market...once again. The close proximity to the cities central farmer's market has to be one of the best assets of living in NoMi. We were both amazed by the bounty of produce still on sale. We quickly filled up our first bag and took it back to the car....

Over the River & Through the Woods to Grandmothers House We Clean

My mom had wanted us to come down to my grandparents home to clean for months. Unfortunately a busy summer had kept us away. We finally made it a week after our honeymoon ended. We slept at my parents home in Cudahy before heading down to Racine. We got home from our trip on Tuesday and left for Milwaukee on Thursday. It was almost like an extended vacation. Before leaving the cities we stopped and had dinner at Foxy Falafel. It was pretty good and I like that she uses sprouted chickpeas. I never knew my grandparents on Poppyseed Tuska's side so Grandma and Grandpa Wojcik were a special part of my life. They both passed away last year after living nearly 90 wonderful years. Their home was always a wonderfully warm and inviting place. The perfect place to spend your Christmas Eve in front of a fire place.
