Not My Normal Thanksgiving

Due to work and school I wasn't able to go home for Thanksgiving, but I survived because my sister"s" came up to be with me. We made chicken instead of turkey. I made pie but the dog ate it.

Morgan was wonderful and made everything. We were able to eat for 3 days.

We did a lot of other things and I still managed to budget my money. It really stinks to be completly broke, I've never been this poor in my entire life. All my money is going towards rent which leaves me with absolutly nothing. I dream of the day my loan check comes. My battery in my camera died so I missed a lot of great photo opportunities.

I got a new job doing stock at American Eagle. Menards found out before I told them. I've never seen my manager so sad.

I did a lot of knitting during my "Thanksgiving break". I made a scarf for a girl at work and a washcloth for Brittany. I decided I'd model the scarf.

I'm still working hard on Scott's sweater. I'm probably going to have to mail it to him unless I slave to it daily so I get it finished by Christmas.

School is already almost done. I talked to my advisor and luckily all my credits transfered from fox which is awesome because that saves me thousands of dollars. Plus I'll be done with school in a year and a half.

A Tettegouche Camp Cabin and Roller Garden Brooke Birthday

Saturday It's become a yearly tradition to stay at a cabin for my birthday. Since Saturday night was the only night that worked for us this year, our locations to stay at were slim. We had casually checked places all week. We hoped to stay somewhere with snow, but all those places were far away or booked. We decided to wait to see what was available on Saturday.

Backcountry Camping with Kids in Theodore Roosevelt National Park

Day 1  Back in May I stumbled upon Theodore Roosevelt National Park. I had no idea there was a National Park in North Dakota and that it was the northern end of the Badlands. Usually our summer vacations coincide with Scott's work trips. Since he didn't have any this summer I thought we should take advantage of actually taking a vacation. What, my workcations are always classics? I suppose a second real vacation this year wouldn't hurt. We definitely have more time than normal. As long as we took Covid-19  precautions and avoided people. We finally settled on a time to go. Blake joined us so we borrowed our dad's van so we could ride together. Scott had just driven from Michigan the day before. Blake had met my parents in Wisconsin to get the van and then drove from Duluth to pick us up. I offered to drive since I literally only drive twice a month.  I was still pretty tired from a long drive home. Don't @ me for doing this, as the kids say. Our kitty has been havin

Honeymoon But With Kids: Pictured Rocks, Beers and Beaches

We stopped for lunch in Grand Marais at The Dunes Saloon Lake Superior Brewing. That's the Michigan one. Not the one in Minnesota. Love the old bar vibes. We started with these massive bacon and cheese stuffed tater tots. They were so good.  The pizza was just as good. A much better brewery than Tahq Falls brewing. Scott wasn't so sure about having lunch here, we had to keep up with our Beaches and Brews theme of the trip.  Meadow has turned into such a teenager lately. She's so embarrassed to take photos with me now.  Oh, I'm going to miss having little kids. T he Lake Superior waters have been giving Theo all the curls.  Next we headed over to Sable Falls. We planned to see the eastern part of Pictured Rocks today since we were staying to the west of the park.   I attempted to recreate a photo from 10 years ago.  Back on the North Country Trail again. This trail runs 42 miles through Pictured Rocks along the coastline. I've now added it to my bucket list to thru-h
