Summer Vacation Is Coming To An End

I've been pretty busy all week with many visitors. Zach, Ann, Jolene, and her boyfriend Adam came up last weekend. It's hard hanging out with them and not having money. I was glad to see them though since the last time I saw them was in June. It's nice that even though we didn't talk much the past few months things are still the same and conversations aren't akward.

Two days later Cevonne and Blake came up. Cevonne and I had plans to go see our favorite band and my future husband. When we got there (two hours late) we found that it was sold out. The ticket man said if we wait 10 minutes he might let us in. I thought it was fate that we finally made it in. Well, the opening band was just finishing and then Jesse walks out. Unfortunatly my husband got food poisoning and wasn't able to sing. Poor Cevonne drove 5 hours to see them.

I guess it was ok because we were getting really sick of all the 16 year girls pushing us. We made up for it by making Blake play Girl Talk with us.

Cevonne left early the next morning so it was just me and Blake.

I wish it was still warm out because I didn't know what to do. I took him to the mall. He caused a crowd at Lego Land.

I took him to his first college party. He was a paper knight.

I dropped him off in Chippewa Falls and now my house feels empty besides my roomates.

This weekend I'm either going to Chicago, Eau Claire, or home, I haven't decided yet. I'm staying at Menards, even though I hate it I'll be getting 2 dollars more an hour. Plus I don't really want to be working at the mall during Christmas.

I've done more knitting. I made a toy for our kitty.

I agree with the 10! I enjoyed it. And, I did not see this before I talked to you today...I wish I would have! I did not know that your concert was sold out, I did not know that you don't want to work at the mall anymore, and I did not know that all those people came to visit you! A 250th 4th of July in Three Lakes

A couple of weeks after we were last up at the cottage, you say? Not soon enough, we say. We assumed dinner would have already been done by the time we arrived so we stopped to eat at Culver's in Rhinelander. While we were eating, I got a text from my dad saying he was in Rhinelander with Chelsea at Urgent Care. I guess Viola had taken a hard fall. When we got to the cottage Daniel was just starting dinner. We hadn't seen Viola since Christmas, she's a little girl now. She was super shy around us at first. She did also just get back from the hospital. I'm not sure if I approve of fireworks the night we get there, but due to scheduling conflicts that's when Three Lakes got in their fireworks show. 2nd of July fireworks would do. Backcountry Camping with Kids in Theodore Roosevelt National Park

Day 1 Back in May I stumbled upon Theodore Roosevelt National Park. I had no idea there was a National Park in North Dakota and that it was the northern end of the Badlands. Usually our summer vacations coincide with Scott's work trips. Since he didn't have any this summer I thought we should take advantage of actually taking a vacation. Japan Family Trip - Part II: Exploring the Shrines and Wilds of Nikko

We had originally planned on taking the bullet train down from Tokyo to Kyoto for a day or two. While being epically fast, it was a bit spendy for the four of us. After talking to Brooke's coworker we settled on a two day trip to Nikko and its World Heritage Sites to break up our week in Tokyo. This turned out to be an amazing decision. The town is teaming with beauty from ancient shrines to epic waterfalls and some of the best meals we had on our trip. Kyoto didn't seem all that appealing to me when I started researching which location to go to. I too am glad we chose to head north to Nikko. When we booked our Tobu Nikko Spacia X tickets I upgraded to the premium seats thinking that we'd be sitting facing one another. Instead we ended up with 4 individual seats, two in the first two rows and two in the last two rows. It turned out just fine with the kids sitting in front of us in two groups.
