On The Eighteenth Day of Advent We Saw Santa Claus

We took Meadow to the 8th floor of Macy's in downtown Minneapolis to see Santa's workshop and visit Santa.

Meadow enjoyed watching all the elves.

Macy's hasn't changed this display since they bought out Marshall Field's. When it was Marshall Field's (and earlier Dayton's) the display changed annually.

I don't think Meadow understood the whole thing.

Then we waited in line to see Santa.

Meadow was dressed in her reindeer outfit. She didn't mind Santa. She really wanted to eat the bells on his sleeve. We couldn't get her to smile either.

They actually let you take two shots with your own camera for free. Even with that policy the lady rushed me.

We found a book in the giftshop of an elf that looks just like Meadow.

We should've bought it.

August Adventures Back in Minnesota

I had a brief lull a fter being super busy in the early summer. So I took the kids up to Lindstrom with me to pick up a lens and go on a little adventure. We found a cool little shop along Lindstrom's main drag, A Ghost in the Attic . Meadow wanted every little knickknack.  She did get some really cool glow in the dark alien cat earrings.  Then we went to the Franconia Sculpture Park . I used to take the kids here every summer. Feel like we hadn't been back in years. We explored for a while, but it was way too hot. These kids can't handle the heat, so we made our way back toward home. We all decided on Jay's Thai Kitchen  for a lunch on the way home. This place ruled. Back in Minneapolis, we all walked over to Victors for breakfast. I had been wanting to take the kids out for breakfast all summer and today was the first time it finally worked out for all of us to go. I love this place.  After a warm end to the week, it was nice to have a rainy Saturday. Look how gre...

You Can Still Garden in the Condo Life

Good morning, Theo! Good morning Minneapolis.

Yardwork, Ikea and Pumpkins

My new parents-in-law got us a dehydrator for the wedding. Knowing we were going to be cleaning up the garden and going to farmer's market, we took a gander at our millionth kitchen device during breakfast.   Scott added granola to his oatmeal.  The oatmeal was rather bland, just the way Brooke likes it.   Scott was actually cleaning up so I had to take a quick photo of him as proof.  Scott told me he was, "putting a blanket down for Peanut," while singing. During the winter months peanut needs a warm place to peer through the window. Seeing as it was nearly November, I setup his blanket for him. Seeing as the farmers market season is dwindling down, we headed to the market...once again. The close proximity to the cities central farmer's market has to be one of the best assets of living in NoMi. We were both amazed by the bounty of produce still on sale. We quickly filled up our first bag and took it back to the car....
