Home, Work, Baby

Now that Meadow doesn't get up quite as often at night I'm not starving when I wake up. I'm okay with making breakfast for the sleepy bears.

Scott was still trying to sneak in a few more minutes of sleep and Meadow was ready to get out of bed.

The cutest alarm clock that money can't buy.

I made apple smiley and heart shaped pancakes with strawberries.

 Meadow joined us for breakfast.

She's sitting in her Bumbo. So, no. She isn't some kind of super baby.

Meadow wanted to watch Scott doing some work.

I had to finish up painting the balcony before Minnesota was in permafrost mode. I'd been painting storm windows all week, so this was the logical next step.

Then she watched me fold laundry. She's obsessed with rolling over. As soon as I put her down she immediately rolls over.

Now that Meadow has a bed in her room she takes naps in there and ends up sleeping longer and falls asleep easier (awesome). I get more me time while she sleeps, so I scrubbed my feet with sugar scrub.

I went over to I-394 to shoot a development for a client. On the way back I checkd out outdoor lights. I'd like to get a pair that match for the balcony and the back door.

I also picked up few other necessities like candy corn.

Scott came home to Meadow and I doing aerobics.

Since Meadow was a week old I've been reading to her. At first we could barely make it through one book before she got bored/wanted to eat. Now she makes it through one or two.

Oh, yeah, I got a new camera on the way home from Mankato, a Nikon D800. We still have the D300 and D5000, but Brooke isn't used to using this camera. When using DX lenses you have to look at a rectangle within the viewfinder when in DX mode. She didn't realize and took this arty pic.

We bugged Scott again when he got back.

Scott complained that he didn't want to make dinner. I said I would if he watched baby. I had been playing with her all day and wanted to do something else.

 Hot and Crunchy Chicken Cones.

I heard something outside. It was the neighbor kids collecting lady bugs (well more likely they were Asian Beetles, but the kids call them lady bugs).

By the time we ate it was already dark out.

 Scott's annual dishes photo.

After he cleaned the kitchen he decided to make a mess again and make brownie ice cream.

I started with the brownies. I got the recipe from the How to Cook Everything app.

It was my mom's birthday, so Meadow and I Skyped with her.

Mr. Mike even Skyped for a little while.

I spent the next couple hours making the chocolate ice cream, freezing the brownies and then combining the two. I couldn't wait to try some the next morning.

So cute seeing Meadow at the table next to Scott. She’s so tiny. I loved the smiley pancakes.

Aerobics – ha, ha.

Yardwork, Ikea and Pumpkins

My new parents-in-law got us a dehydrator for the wedding. Knowing we were going to be cleaning up the garden and going to farmer's market, we took a gander at our millionth kitchen device during breakfast.   Scott added granola to his oatmeal.  The oatmeal was rather bland, just the way Brooke likes it.   Scott was actually cleaning up so I had to take a quick photo of him as proof.  Scott told me he was, "putting a blanket down for Peanut," while singing. During the winter months peanut needs a warm place to peer through the window. Seeing as it was nearly November, I setup his blanket for him. Seeing as the farmers market season is dwindling down, we headed to the market...once again. The close proximity to the cities central farmer's market has to be one of the best assets of living in NoMi. We were both amazed by the bounty of produce still on sale. We quickly filled up our first bag and took it back to the car....

A Dog, Pride and Lake Maria

We are dog sitting Honey for a few days. Emma offered to pay us in her awesome chocolate chip cookies and New Glarus beer, so how could we refuse? Let's just say Peanut was not too thrilled with a dog in the house.

This Puzzle Just Never Ends (Plus More Bread!)

I got off Sunday for the second week in a row. While we both got up at about the same time, Brooke took forever to get dressed. I think she has too many outfits to choose from. Once up I fry some salami to go in this week's bread. We hadn't made ebelskivers in long time. We filled them chocolate chips and jam that we got from our friends Ben and Jordan. It feels like just yesterday that they stopped by post-Christmas with their cat Galaxy. Hopefully we can visit them in Seattle in the next year or so. No those aren't chocolate ebelskievers they weren't turning well and started burning. Since we were having problems with the 'skivers we decided to finish up with some waffles.   Scott plans out meals for our grocery list while I clean up the kitchen. It's great to see our mixer back in action. I fixed it midway through the previous week. I meant to take photos of the repair process, but forgot. Then Scott got star...
