We got up late and decided to go to Manhattan.





We do a lot of walking around



Dan is practicing for New Years.



Dan took us out for lunch with his gift card for some Chicago style pizza. We ate like kings.



We walked through Central Park.



There were some great photo opps.



I'm not sure what this place was for but it was pretty.



There's an ice skating rink in the middle that we're going to check out before we leave.



Some people here dress pretty crazy.



We were going to go to the art museum but the line was a mile long so we walked around instead.



Christmas time is pretty.



Saks 5th Avenue is pretty outside



and inside



I got new shoes at a vintage store yesterday



The biggest Catholic church in the US



Grand Central Station had a light show while we were there



We saw some interesting magazines at the news stand.



Mmmm street vendor pretzels



There was another ice skating rink in Bryant park



We found Time square. It wasn't hard to miss.



We stopped in the Marriot for a drink.



I had to get a cosmo of course. I find that I don't get carded here often. Nice.



The view was great.

Day 1  Back in May I stumbled upon Theodore Roosevelt National Park. I had no idea there was a National Park in North Dakota and that it was the northern end of the Badlands. Usually our summer vacations coincide with Scott's work trips. Since he didn't have any this summer I thought we should take advantage of actually taking a vacation. What, my workcations are always classics? I suppose a second real vacation this year wouldn't hurt. We definitely have more time than normal. As long as we took Covid-19  precautions and avoided people. We finally settled on a time to go. Blake joined us so we borrowed our dad's van so we could ride together. Scott had just driven from Michigan the day before. Blake had met my parents in Wisconsin to get the van and then drove from Duluth to pick us up. Sisters, a Brother and Walking Chicago

  Summer always seems to mean one thing: weddings. Whether I'm shooting or attending, we're bound to end up at a few every year.  This time around we were heading down to Chicago from my big sister Katrina's nuptials. I feel like all our vacations are centered around a wedding or something wedding related. I wish we could go on a vacation without having to worry about being somewhere.   It also means a few repetitive trips down I-94. There aren't nearly enough unique stops off the interstate. One outlier is Foster Cheese Haus , the only organic Wisconsin cheese shop I know of. Run by the folks behind Castle Rock Organic Farms , we always try to stop by. Unfortunately for us they were closed on Wednesdays, but at least we got to spy on their darling garden out front.    Brooke and I arrived in Necedah. We decided to stop at Brooke's sister Brittany's home along the way to cut the ride in half and get her dressed hemmed.   ...

Work Trip: Muncie, Appalachian Kentucky, Cincinnati and Chicago

I'm back to being on the road again for 360 shoots. This time I got to shoot Ball State in Muncie, Indiana. That was just the start since I had three shoots lined up in Indiana, Kentucky and Illinois over five days. After my first day of shooting I got dinner at Twin Archer Brew Pub and got a Philly Cheesesteak of course. I eat way too many cheesesteaks. And then I explored Downtown Muncie and thereabouts.
