We got up late and decided to go to Manhattan.

We do a lot of walking around

Dan is practicing for New Years.

Dan took us out for lunch with his gift card for some Chicago style pizza. We ate like kings.

We walked through Central Park.

There were some great photo opps.

I'm not sure what this place was for but it was pretty.

There's an ice skating rink in the middle that we're going to check out before we leave.

Some people here dress pretty crazy.

We were going to go to the art museum but the line was a mile long so we walked around instead.

Christmas time is pretty.

Saks 5th Avenue is pretty outside

and inside

I got new shoes at a vintage store yesterday

The biggest Catholic church in the US

Grand Central Station had a light show while we were there

We saw some interesting magazines at the news stand.

Mmmm street vendor pretzels

There was another ice skating rink in Bryant park

We found Time square. It wasn't hard to miss.

We stopped in the Marriot for a drink.

I had to get a cosmo of course. I find that I don't get carded here often. Nice.

The view was great.

Yardwork, Ikea and Pumpkins

My new parents-in-law got us a dehydrator for the wedding. Knowing we were going to be cleaning up the garden and going to farmer's market, we took a gander at our millionth kitchen device during breakfast.   Scott added granola to his oatmeal.  The oatmeal was rather bland, just the way Brooke likes it.   Scott was actually cleaning up so I had to take a quick photo of him as proof.  Scott told me he was, "putting a blanket down for Peanut," while singing. During the winter months peanut needs a warm place to peer through the window. Seeing as it was nearly November, I setup his blanket for him. Seeing as the farmers market season is dwindling down, we headed to the market...once again. The close proximity to the cities central farmer's market has to be one of the best assets of living in NoMi. We were both amazed by the bounty of produce still on sale. We quickly filled up our first bag and took it back to the car....

Honeymoon: Duluth, Minnesota is Not Flooded. Long Live Long-Pong.

When the waitress asked for Blake's ID and he told her he was underage we were kicked out of the Thirsty Pagan. To not miss out on our favorite pizza and beer (and we had a coupon to use up) we ordered food to go. While waiting for our food we walked around the great, but sad city of Superior, Wisc. Heading directly out the door and towards the industrial waterfront this Charlie Brown block was plopped amongst the former industry.

Amanda asked: Where do you guys get your ideas for groceries? Well we love cookbooks and all things food related. We subscribe to Bon Appetit and get lots of ideas from there. Whenever I'm at the library I usually pick out cookbooks there. If it's a book we really like we end up buying it. Scott was feeling productive right as he got up and reorganized our cookbooks. I'm hoping this will stay this way for at least a week. You notice the meticulous organization by cuisine...well, I still have to organize the baking shelf a bit better. My little bro is visiting during his spring break. Blake decided it would be cool to put the Diana lens on his SLR (or maybe it was Brooke's idea). Scott gathers the ingredients for breakfast.     The three of us cook together. It's nice having an extra helper.   While I was toasting the french toast Blake attempted to dislodge a stuck knife. It took a while, but we did get it out.  The results were these magnificent ...
