Dec 28 2007

We got up late and decided to go to Manhattan.

We do a lot of walking around

Dan is practicing for New Years.

Dan took us out for lunch with his gift card for some Chicago style pizza. We ate like kings.

We walked through Central Park.

There were some great photo opps.

I'm not sure what this place was for but it was pretty.

There's an ice skating rink in the middle that we're going to check out before we leave.

Some people here dress pretty crazy.

We were going to go to the art museum but the line was a mile long so we walked around instead.

Christmas time is pretty.

Saks 5th Avenue is pretty outside

and inside

I got new shoes at a vintage store yesterday

The biggest Catholic church in the US

Grand Central Station had a light show while we were there

We saw some interesting magazines at the news stand.

Mmmm street vendor pretzels

There was another ice skating rink in Bryant park

We found Time square. It wasn't hard to miss.

We stopped in the Marriot for a drink.

I had to get a cosmo of course. I find that I don't get carded here often. Nice.

The view was great.

Grand Rounds National Scenic Byway

Yesterday Scott and I biked this. That's a wopping 41 miles around the city. It has been my goal all summer to do the whole thing and I did it. I got to see parts of the city I had never seen before. I'm glad Scott likes biking as much as I do. I've been working more, but I still seem to be short on money. I need to win the lottery or get a third job. It feels weird not going to school this fall. For the first time since I was 3 I won't have homework. I'm kind of disappointed in a way. I wish I could go to school, taking a semester off was a bad idea. I'm going to be in school til I'm 30.

Pizza Farm, Another Waterfall and Two Wild and Crazy Guys Come to Minneapolis

I've been wanting to check out this pizza farm in Northfield for a few years now. They are only open on Wednesday's and every 3rd Sunday. It just never worked with our schedules to go. When deciding what to do for dinner I remembered they had just opened for the season again.  Got a phone update and didn't want to make dinner. So, Red Barn Farm seemed like a good choice. Finally Brooke checked this off her list.    They have tables but you are free to sit anywhere you want on the lawn too.   It was the perfect day to enjoy the lawn.   They supply the pizza and you have to bring everything else, including dinnerware. They do have a small shop with a couple sodas for sale, otherwise its BYOB. The pizza is the wood fired variety that's oh-so-popular these day. Not complaining, it's good. Scott thought the pizza was average but it was delicious.  No, I didn't think it was average. It's just run-of-the-mill these days. Would go back. The kids were excited

Sushi Sunday Returns

Today I woke up before Scott and surprised him by making big pancakes. I was so excited, but I had to take a quick shower first. He didn't know I was making breakfast and woke up too late. He had to scarf it down before heading to work. I'm not going to complain that Scott had to work on a Sunday again. Yea it sucks, but I need to be more thankful that he has a job. It may not be the best he's had or the worst and the pay isn't phenomenal, but life isn't always fair. Instead of dwelling on the things I don't like I need to be more happy about the things in life that are great.  After he left I spent time on-and-off working on this puzzle. It's a lot easier to see the many colors when the suns out. I think I found about 3 more pieces.  Then I ordered more seeds online . Last year we figured we had enough, but then we realized we really want to grow kale and chard and popcorn. I know it's a little early to be getting excited abo
