How Come Everytime You Come Around...

I wish I could've updated while I was there so I could remember everything I did. Thinking about it makes me sad that I'm not there. I want to live there when I grow up.

We did a lot of sightseeing and walking around. I didn't realize there was going to be so much to do, I could've easily stayed another week..or month. I waited so long to go and see Scott again and now I have to do it all over again. I wish I was a stronger person, I cried on the plane. I was watching The Holiday so I hope people don't think I'm a sap for crappy love movies. I guess I'm still overwelmed by the whole experience that I don't know what to say about it. I list everything that I can remember right now.

I look forward to summer. I currently live in two houses by the way. I'm excited to live in our new house. Hardwood floors, tall ceilings, two stories, and a bath tub with feet. The kind of house I've always wanted to live in. Sadly I won't be close enough to the beach anymore, that's ok I'll still go.

Meadow's 12th Birthday Weekend

Our little gal was turning 12 this week. That meant a picnic in the park along Minneapolis' Minnehaha Creek. The kids and I were in a competition of who could get to 1,000 first. They had to spend 1,000 hours outside and I had to walk 1,000 miles. To be fair the kids started January 2024 and I started January of this year. They beat me and decided their reward was to go to Minnesota's Largest Candy Store. I'm trying to loose weight, Brooklyn. I always walk around with Brooke and the kids knowing I just want the homemade treats on the way out. We also picked up some crazy snacks for the upcoming 4th weekend up north. They had changed a few of their murals since we were here last. We forgot to get the lemon candy apparently. Meadow wanted to go to her favorite pizza place for her birthday dinner. We made it safely to Bayfield without getting attacked by any bears . I think that's because of my wily driving skills.

Big Box Shopping Day...Literally

This week I made ground cherry pie. What are ground cherries you ask? Well they're not really cherries at all. They are grown similarly to tomatoes. They have a husk surrounding them like a tomatillo and are about the size of a small grape or cranberry. I've see these at the coop and at farmers market for a brief time in late summer/early fall. I bought some the second I saw them at my coop. I wasn't sure what to expect in terms of taste, especially after having bad luck with currants this year. They had a really pleasant taste and were very sweet. We both woke up early this morning. For me it was stressing over the wedding. Scott put a breakfast order in for giant pancake with cinnamon apples. Typically I cook breakfast for us, but its really nice when Brooke does it for me. Plus she's an expert on making big pancakes.
