Grand Rounds National Scenic Byway

Yesterday Scott and I biked this.

That's a wopping 41 miles around the city. It has been my goal all summer to do the whole thing and I did it. I got to see parts of the city I had never seen before. I'm glad Scott likes biking as much as I do.

I've been working more, but I still seem to be short on money. I need to win the lottery or get a third job. It feels weird not going to school this fall. For the first time since I was 3 I won't have homework. I'm kind of disappointed in a way. I wish I could go to school, taking a semester off was a bad idea. I'm going to be in school til I'm 30.

Food Daze

Remember why we needed a freezer? We did order one from Best Buy that week, but it was on backorder until July 21. We still didn't get it and now they are saying it could be August 28. You have no idea how hard it is to go through the whole summer not being able to make our own ice cream or popsicles. Buying ice cream is nothing compared to making homemade. Please cross your fingers with us in hopes we get it soon. Since Scott had to be to work at 11. We got up early and drove to the farmers market. We had to get there fast, so we couldn't bike. As Brooke noted a few posts back, it seems like more and more people are coming to the Sunday market. It can be pretty chaotic. It took us nearly ten minutes to park. There was so much to choose from this time around. It's a lot more fun to go to the market this time of year. It's really amazing what diverse crops grow in Minnesota's short summer. Makes one wish we didn't waste so much fertile land

2 Weddings and a Blacksmith

I made cinnamon rolls for breakfast. Not from scratch this time, but from a can I found in the fridge. I needed as much room as possible in the fridge to hold the wedding cakes so we were trying to eat everything in there.  I tried to sleep in, but Brooke really wanted to get vacation going. I think we ended up eating the entire tube of cinnamon rolls. This must be another Romenesko tradition akin to eating six corn on the cobs at one sitting.

The Cape Cod of the Midwest

We talked Brittany into joining us for a road trip to Door County, WI. Scott had never been there before ( or so I believe) . Considering how short of a drive it is I'm surprised my family didn't go that often, either.
