Closing Up the Cottage: Peak Color Edition

The kids had off from school and we hadn't been anywhere in awhile so to the cottage it was. The colors along the way were peaking.    First we picked up a new bike for Meadow in River Falls. Well, new to us. You know we don't buy many things brand new. Theo was super excited to see G.G. and Grandpa at the cottage. We always pass this store in Catawba and I've always been curious what it looks like inside. I finally looked it up on Google Maps earlier this week and saw they have bulk candy. Since the kids did really well at their Parent Teacher Conferences, they deserved a treat. They did indeed have candy. Grab bags, random holiday candy, and lots more.

A Chilly and Snowy Fall Visit to the Cottage and UP Waterfall Chasing

Day 2 Meadow had a few days off from school and I have a few days of PTO to use so we took a fall trip to the cottage. We arrived on Tuesday evening. Wednesday happened to be our 9th Anniversary. It's tradition to have crepes for breakfast but we didn't have any milk. Waffle mix it is. Though we've only been married nine years we've actually been together for almost 15 years. I think that number matters a lot more than a legal document celebrating a party we had six years after meeting. We went from summer weather the week before to winter this week. Today called for on and off rain. Eventually we made it outside. My dad had apparently already brought in the docks and boat for the winter. With the weather we had this weekend, it was probably for the best.

A Rainy Eagle River Cranberry Fest

We had two open houses scheduled for the weekend, so why not stay out of the way by escaping to the cottage. We've went to the cottage a lot fewer times this year. So, why not. We arrived late Friday night. My parents, Brittany and Marina were already there.

I'm a Fairy: Halloween with Meadow Jane and Friends

Wednesday Our Halloween festivities started with our annual pumpkin carving party with Cevonne and Jose. Of course it has to be done with Skype. I really wish they would move back already. This year I attempted to make a cyclops, but it turns out that a pumpkin-cyclops just looks like a gourd with two strange eyes. Meadow painted hers blue marble. It was "going to be beautiful". I guess my pumpkin won this year. Meadow was a little afraid of our pumpkins once they were lit up. We had photos from a Armatage Park Halloween Party and Eleanor's Birthday party, but Scott lost the memory card... Life happens. Sunday For the first time in forever I made Sunday breakfast. Kaiserschmarrn it was. We really had no plans until later in the day. I wanted to get some yarn for a new project. We drove down to Linden Hills to check out the almost-closed Needlework Unlimited. So, many yarn stores have closed since I moved here. Most ...
