A Fall Farmers Market Visit

I prefer the local King Field Farmers Market or the bougie Mill City Farmers Market, but we decided to stop by the OG Minneapolis Farmers Market. Early October is peak farmers market season here in Minnesota.

Scott claims the Kingfield Farmers Market has the same stuff but I don't believe it.

There's just the same stuff 5 times over at the Minneapolis Farmers Market.

I'll admit this place is pretty great despite being in the armpit of a freeway.

It's getting near the end of our garden season. I harvested what was left. One red raspberry, 2 bell peppers and some kale.

Back at home I worked on painting the remaining trim on the garage. Would I finish before snow showed up?

Meanwhile, Meadow and I went to the library.

With a quick stop at Plato's Closet.

We're cat sitting for our neighbor which means Meadow is in heaven.

Then somehow we got into looking through old yearbooks.

The kids couldn't believe this is their papa.

On the left and really I don't look that different.

Yes, I'm that mom that has a school journal for my kids.

We ended the weekend at our favorite buffet, Q Cucumbers.

Yardwork, Ikea and Pumpkins

My new parents-in-law got us a dehydrator for the wedding. Knowing we were going to be cleaning up the garden and going to farmer's market, we took a gander at our millionth kitchen device during breakfast.   Scott added granola to his oatmeal.  The oatmeal was rather bland, just the way Brooke likes it.   Scott was actually cleaning up so I had to take a quick photo of him as proof.  Scott told me he was, "putting a blanket down for Peanut," while singing. During the winter months peanut needs a warm place to peer through the window. Seeing as it was nearly November, I setup his blanket for him. Seeing as the farmers market season is dwindling down, we headed to the market...once again. The close proximity to the cities central farmer's market has to be one of the best assets of living in NoMi. We were both amazed by the bounty of produce still on sale. We quickly filled up our first bag and took it back to the car....

The Cape Cod of the Midwest

We talked Brittany into joining us for a road trip to Door County, WI. Scott had never been there before ( or so I believe) . Considering how short of a drive it is I'm surprised my family didn't go that often, either.

Theo Meets G.G. and Grandpa

The memorial for Scott's dad was still to be decided so we headed back home. My parents were planning to come to visit this weekend too. We were driving back on Brooke's birthday, so I had to make her absurd brookie cheesecake before her rents came to town. I spent my actual birthday taking Theo to doctor appointments. The good news is another blood test was not needed. When my parents showed up my mom surprised us with this giant balloon. It was huge. It would've looked fine in our old place, but it just took over our condo. Meadow still loved it. They also surprised Meadow with Wonder Woman wristbands. GG was pretty excited to see Theo. I was excited for all of the cheese and snacks they brought. Meadow had already found some crackers. We then decided to go out for Friday Night Fish Fry. We chose St. Albert the Great over by Longfellow. I recently got a hankering for old school Catholic fish fries. ...
