On The Twenty-First Day of Advent We Drove Down To Milwaukee

I got a surprise day off on Tuesday which allowed us extra time to see family for Christmas. Originally we were going to just go to my parents house, but with the extra days we were able to drive to Michigan.

We hadn't been to Grand Rapids yet to see my sister's house. With her newborn in tow this was the perfect chance to visit.

On the way we stopped at our favorite little cheese palace, Foster Cheese Haus.

We broke up the long drive to Michigan by stopping in Milwaukee for the night.

More cheese please. I made a classic lasagna.

We took out all of my parents Little People toys. The classic toys are so much better than the newfangled Fisher Price toys.

These brought back a lot of memories for me too.

What happened to day 20? I love the Little People toys. I want to play with them sometime. I love that you have the cool slide...we had the house.

Campervan Vacation: San Francsicso, Northern California and the Great Redwoods Forests

Day 1 Minneapolis - San Fransisco And we're off again. This time on an actual planned vacation. Somehow we managed to all get up and eat breakfast despite a relatively early flight to San Jose. Travel Theo is so cute. He didn't remember the last time we took a flight back in 2020 , so we let him sit at the window. He was interested for about 5 seconds. Backcountry Camping with Kids in Theodore Roosevelt National Park

Day 1 Back in May I stumbled upon Theodore Roosevelt National Park. I had no idea there was a National Park in North Dakota and that it was the northern end of the Badlands. Usually our summer vacations coincide with Scott's work trips. Since he didn't have any this summer I thought we should take advantage of actually taking a vacation. How Many Cottage Visits This Summer? Well, This Time We Went to the Vilas County Fair

You probably thought: "You guys can't be going to to the cottage again? And you already went to a fair!" Well, you'd be wrong. After a delayed return from Utah, we headed back to Three Lakes. After missing the turn to get on 35W north we found ourselves on 94 East and decided to keep going that way. Since we'd be on 29, you know we had to stop at Marieke Gouda again. This time we could browse around. We got some cheese for up north and the kids and I got ice cream cones, again. The water levels had really dropped.
