On the third day of Advent we got a Christmas Tree

Went with the wife and baby to Weber’s Greenhouse in Brooklyn Center to get our Christmas tree. During Christmas Rum River Tree Farm sells here.

After trying the farmers market (overpriced) and ruling out big box stores (not our style, usually) in 2012 we decided to try our go-to greenhouse.

We had to come back this year.

This year the gentleman who always seems to be working let us know that trees that we were looking at were priced by a new guy. He said we should disregard the sticker price.

I love this guy.

We settled on a beautiful Douglas Fir for $30 and some pine tops for another $18.

Backcountry Camping with Kids in Theodore Roosevelt National Park

Day 1 Back in May I stumbled upon Theodore Roosevelt National Park. I had no idea there was a National Park in North Dakota and that it was the northern end of the Badlands. Over the River & Through the Woods to Grandmothers House We Clean

My mom had wanted us to come down to my grandparents home to clean for months. Unfortunately a busy summer had kept us away. We finally made it a week after our honeymoon ended. We slept at my parents home in Cudahy before heading down to Racine. We got home from our trip on Tuesday and left for Milwaukee on Thursday. It was almost like an extended vacation. Before leaving the cities we stopped and had dinner at Foxy Falafel. It was pretty good and I like that she uses sprouted chickpeas. I never knew my grandparents on Poppyseed Tuska's side so Grandma and Grandpa Wojcik were a special part of my life. They both passed away last year after living nearly 90 wonderful years. We talked Brittany into joining us for a road trip to Door County, WI. Scott had never been there before ( or so I believe) . Considering how short of a drive it is I'm surprised my family didn't go that often, either.
