Dec 8 2007

I slept in today and I still got up before Scott.

I couldn't sit down to eat breakfast because the kitty was too busy going crazy.

Scott suprisingly gets up not too much later.

Scott has to go to school on a Saturday. Now he knows how I feel.

I go over to Cevonne's new place.

She hasn't finished unpacking yet.

She gets bored with that so she reads me a story.

She doesn't know where Olive Garden is so I show her.

After seeing how far away Olive Garden is she decides to apply at Buca which is much closer to where she lives.

It is so cold in her apartment so we make tea.

We try to fix the heater ourselves. Only 2 hours later does it decide to start working again.

Scott is finally done with school so we go pick him up.

We make dinner quickly before all the punks come over.

Cevonne wants to see what our house is like when there is a show going on so we wait until everyone arrives.

It's getting late. I call Ben who's in town to see what's up.

We go over to see Ben and Jordan.

Most of the night is spent looking up things on Ben's computer.

Cevonne and I listen patiently as the boys talk about computers.

Jordan works on her drawings.

Cevonne turns into cyclops.

Ben seems tired so we leave.

After dropping off Cevonne, Scott and I see a kitty digging in the garbage. We take him home.

We take the cat up to Savanah's room to feed him.

Later we introduce Hex to the new kitty which we named Cat Power.

Hex is literally a "scaredy cat" and hides under the bed.

After the new kitty breaks some dishes and bites Scott in the arm, I finally go to bed.

I told you my life was more interesting.

Yardwork, Ikea and Pumpkins

My new parents-in-law got us a dehydrator for the wedding. Knowing we were going to be cleaning up the garden and going to farmer's market, we took a gander at our millionth kitchen device during breakfast.   Scott added granola to his oatmeal.  The oatmeal was rather bland, just the way Brooke likes it.   Scott was actually cleaning up so I had to take a quick photo of him as proof.  Scott told me he was, "putting a blanket down for Peanut," while singing. During the winter months peanut needs a warm place to peer through the window. Seeing as it was nearly November, I setup his blanket for him. Seeing as the farmers market season is dwindling down, we headed to the market...once again. The close proximity to the cities central farmer's market has to be one of the best assets of living in NoMi. We were both amazed by the bounty of produce still on sale. We quickly filled up our first bag and took it back to the car....

Fall Adventures with the Kids (without Scott)

While Scott was exploring ( I was working...) California the kids and I were back home. Porch breakfast and planning for our upcoming Washington road trip. Today we had plans to go apple picking and hiking. I packed us a picnic lunch for our day. Meadow had earned some money recently and with her money bought herself a music stand. It arrived today. Then the kids and I drove to Whistling Well Farms to go apple picking. We had been here a couple times in the past few years.

Errands and Painting the Garage Before Winter

Meadow and I had a million errands to run on this day. Scott needed trim paint for the garage. Good thing we get the contractor discount at Sherwin Williams. Cause they're super expensive. But are their paints really that much better?    Meadow looked at coats at Goodwill. She didn't like that the sleeves were short on this coat. Agreed.    I love that Goodwill has EV chargers. It seems that no one knows that they are there. We stopped at REI and I liked this 20 degree bag. I don't believe the temperature ratings on these. This is probably good to 40 or 30 degrees. AKA Brooke has major blood circulation issues.   Theo spent the morning playing the Switch, of course. Once he was done gaming, Theo joined us in helping to paint the garage. Scott had all the green done so it was my turn to paint the trim. Don't let them fool you. I painted the rest of the trim. But I suppose the one day they helped sped things up a bit. Break for lunch. The rest of the garage t...
