I finally made the trip back home this weekend for my cousins wedding that I barely know. Well that's 3 down only 30+ more to go to. I really wish I had the whole week off, it didn't even feel like I went home it went by so fast. We left late Friday night and early on Sunday. Scott finally met my mother, I had been putting it off for a very long time. I think he understands why. I won't be back until Christmas but at least I'll be there long enough to see everyone. I did at least get to see Cevonne and Amanda so it wasn't a complete waste of time.



I look like I'm living in the wrong decade.

School has started. I hate my online class, I hope I never have to take a class online again, it's so impersonal and so much work. At least it's only art history so I know what I'm doing. My other class has only 6 people in it. We design menus. This week at Menards I get to make up my own schedule, so whenever I'm bored I can go to work.

Gosh I wish I could have been there- last I saw amanda was on highway 41 by Oshkosh. Last I saw you was long, long ago. . .I can't wait for Thanksgiving.

My new parents-in-law got us a dehydrator for the wedding. Knowing we were going to be cleaning up the garden and going to farmer's market, we took a gander at our millionth kitchen device during breakfast.   Scott added granola to his oatmeal.  The oatmeal was rather bland, just the way Brooke likes it.   Scott was actually cleaning up so I had to take a quick photo of him as proof.  Scott told me he was, "putting a blanket down for Peanut," while singing. During the winter months peanut needs a warm place to peer through the window. Seeing as it was nearly November, I setup his blanket for him. Seeing as the farmers market season is dwindling down, we headed to the market...once again. The close proximity to the cities central farmer's market has to be one of the best assets of living in NoMi. We were both amazed by the bounty of produce still on sale. We quickly filled up our first bag and took it back to the car....

Backcountry Camping with Kids in Theodore Roosevelt National Park

Day 1  Back in May I stumbled upon Theodore Roosevelt National Park. I had no idea there was a National Park in North Dakota and that it was the northern end of the Badlands. Usually our summer vacations coincide with Scott's work trips. Since he didn't have any this summer I thought we should take advantage of actually taking a vacation. What, my workcations are always classics? I suppose a second real vacation this year wouldn't hurt. We definitely have more time than normal. As long as we took Covid-19  precautions and avoided people. We finally settled on a time to go. Blake joined us so we borrowed our dad's van so we could ride together. Scott had just driven from Michigan the day before. Blake had met my parents in Wisconsin to get the van and then drove from Duluth to pick us up. Northwoods NYE 2025: A Long Drive to Marty's Place North and Winter Fun on Dog Lake

Christmas time is tricky for me because it's the busiest time for me at work. I took a half day on New Years Eve and then we headed straight up north. The kids and I should've just went up days earlier, but instead I played video games in the guest room all week. Was so happy to see this place even though I was not feeling great. Of course this little guy brought another bug home with him for winter break. Ah, the good place. There's nothing better than cottage in winter. The cottage was looking beautiful in the snow. Of course you have to trudge out onto to the lake to take it all in. The addition really looks like it's always been there.  Meadow always looking cute.
