I don't want summer to end

Today we went up to Medicine Lake to do some boating activites. Since I won't be able to make it up to my cottage this year I was glad I got to do that before summer ended. I really think I'm having the best summer ever. Well, I say that every year so I'm not sure, but this summer has been pretty great.

Yep that's me kneeboarding. My first time too, I was pretty proud of myself.

I'm working a lot now. 60 hours this week. It's good money, but now I won't be able to enjoy the rest of my summer. I don't have time to go the beach or for any bike rides anymore. Working at the mall of america isn't such a good idea either, I keep wanting to buy things. Gnarls Barkley was there a few days ago, so maybe I'll see some celebrities.

Yardwork, Ikea and Pumpkins

My new parents-in-law got us a dehydrator for the wedding. Knowing we were going to be cleaning up the garden and going to farmer's market, we took a gander at our millionth kitchen device during breakfast.   Scott added granola to his oatmeal.  The oatmeal was rather bland, just the way Brooke likes it.   Scott was actually cleaning up so I had to take a quick photo of him as proof.  Scott told me he was, "putting a blanket down for Peanut," while singing. During the winter months peanut needs a warm place to peer through the window. Seeing as it was nearly November, I setup his blanket for him. Seeing as the farmers market season is dwindling down, we headed to the market...once again. The close proximity to the cities central farmer's market has to be one of the best assets of living in NoMi. We were both amazed by the bounty of produce still on sale. We quickly filled up our first bag and took it back to the car....

2 Weddings and a Blacksmith

I made cinnamon rolls for breakfast. Not from scratch this time, but from a can I found in the fridge. I needed as much room as possible in the fridge to hold the wedding cakes so we were trying to eat everything in there.  I tried to sleep in, but Brooke really wanted to get vacation going. I think we ended up eating the entire tube of cinnamon rolls. This must be another Romenesko tradition akin to eating six corn on the cobs at one sitting.

Snow Leads to Christmas

Last night our dining room and staircase hallway were finished and painted. I love how the color looks with the dark wood. I guess after living in places with white walls we're both pretty excited about painting our walls.   We could now put our dining room back together.  It snowed more than an inch for the first time all year. Brooke shoveled the last time, so I was out the door, clearing the sidewalk and driveway.   I hoped that I'd have breakfast waiting for me when I got back inside, but Brooke was busy putting stuff back in the dining room. Less than a week later our house was back to normal.   I also brought out all our Christmas decorations. Scott was pretty upset that breakfast wasn't made when he came back in. Brooke wanted waffles, but I thought we should use our new griddle.   We planned on getting a Christmas tree, so Brooke brought out the Minnesota Growers map to find a tree farm nearby.  ...
