I can't wait to grow up

I know I said I couldn't take anymore trips home or to Milwaukee, but I never said anything about Chicago. I had the opportunity to go with my ST so why wouldn't I take it. We went to the Pitchfork Music Festival. I'd rather go to Lollapalooza, but I still had fun anyway. I got to see/hear some cool bands like The Walkmen, The Futureheads, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists and Jens Lekman. I finally got to eat at Burrito House after listening to Scott talk about it for months, I wish we had one here. 2 days wasn't enough time to be there, I need to go for like a week.

Since I was 13 I've wanted to live in Chicago and in high school I decided that's where I'll live when I finish school. I'm 21 and only half way done, this is going to take a few more years. First I have to figure out what the heck I want to do with the rest of my life.

Driving home was no fun. 5 hours in 100 degree heat with no air conditioning. Someday I'll buy my dream car until then I'll have to sweat.

By the way anyone can comment on here, so feel free.

Iron Range Camping for Work and Fun

Scott had more shoots this weekend. This time it took us way up north. With Meadow back in school we left Friday afternoon.  Luckily Meadow's teacher canceled their afternoon meeting and we were able to leave earlier than we planned. To break up the long drive we camped for the night at Mille Lacs Kathio State Park . We booked the last site, I can't believe people are still camping. When we were setting up our tent Meadow said, "Why are other people so close to us?" We don't go to normal campgrounds very often I guess.  We set up early and went on a hike before dinner. We should have brought our canoe along, but a hike would do.

A Weekend of Bike Rides

With the kids finishing up school we had to treat them to Sushi Train. They picked the downtown location, which meant a family bike ride.  Theo asked why we don't go to this location anymore. The other location is more convenient but we agreed to go the one downtown this time.  I swear we did in fact eat sushi. We seem to always miss strawberry picking season. This year I was determined to go. Afton Apple was the first place I found that was open for the season.  One of their old fields that they were ready to retire was producing a lot of fruit this year.

Work Trip: Carlinville, Illinois and a St Louis Walk on the Hill

Every few shoots for my main client I end up somewhere I'd never heard of before. This time it was Blackburn College in quaint Carlinville, Illiniois. Apparently famous for it's chili factory and its parlor. The family friendly chili parlor faces the town square, meanwhile the Anchor Inn faces the street behind it where the chili is also served alongside beers and rail drinks.  I was informed the chili comes with a kick and that was no lie. Knowing this fact I went with the chili mac and I'd do it again. Even though Carlinville is much closer to St Louis, the Anchor is definitely a Cubs bar.
