Meadows First Farmers' Market and a Boring Sunday

I'm starting to be able to move around more so I take any chance at getting out of the house that I can. I suggested we head to the farmers market, Scott wanted to carry her this time. My first time wearing the Ergobaby. It's pretty great. The long, snowy spring and little Meadow on booard kept us away from the market. It was so nice to make it back.  Meadow is going through a growth spurt, which means she wants to eat constantly and sleep less. That means I sleep less.  Scott has to try to entertain her so I can take a break to eat. She typically tries to nibble me to death. She doesn't like when I'm gone too long.  What a face. I usually pass the time on my iPad while she eats. I'm a little jealous of seeing photos on Facebook of people out enjoying their summer. I want to go to the beach and on boat rides. Instead I'm stuck inside all day feeding Miss Eats-A-lot. It doesn't really meld with our love for the o...

One Week Old

I have surprisingly taken to motherhood well. Everyone kept telling me how the first 2 weeks have been the hardest. In my mind I kept telling myself how much work it would be and how little of sleep I would get. In reality I've been sleeping well and she's been eating fine and gaining back her birth weight . Now I'm more worried it's going to all change and she's going to get fussier.  Emma offered to take her newborn photos . I figured Scott wouldn't be into the idea himself so I said sure. Actually I would have been, but Emma shoots babies how mom's want them photographed. We headed over to their house in the morning. Emma suggested we use her backyard as a backdrop for better lighting. Their yard is shadier than ours so I agreed. As I guess that's evident from this shot. We tried putting her on a fur rug first but she kept trying to eat it.  I watched for a good ten minutes and then started to get bored. I fed h...

Our First Born

It all started Friday morning at 5 a.m. I just turned 38 weeks pregnant. I got up to use the bathroom and then couldn't fall back asleep. I was starting to have contractions. I got up to use the bathroom again a few hours later and saw that my mucus plug had come out. I woke up Scott and said pack your bags we're having a baby this weekend.  This got my heat pumping. We didn't know how long it would be until she went into labor. I was pretty tired since we went to bed late the night before and took a little nap waking up at each contraction.  Scott had two photo shoots he needed to get done that day. I didn't want to be alone. So, I came with him. First I made sure we had everything we needed in case we weren't coming back. We went to the Mall of America where I had to keep walking every time another contraction hit.  I had been approached by a New York creative firm to shoot some key locales around Minneapolis. When I accepted it I hadn't ev...
