Donuts, Banana Bread and Touch Ups

I asked Theo what he wanted for breakfast today. He said donuts and I couldn't say no. We walked over to Bogarts to pick them up. He liked that the sequins on his shirt lit up the donut bag.

Meanwhile, back at home Meadow was making second breakfast of mini eggs and toast.

The kids bedrooms were so close to being done. Scott put the baseboard shoes back on so I needed to caulk.

Can't have tiny gaps, I guess.

We borrowed a projector from Daniel for Meadow's birthday party. We tried it out the night before by using our big map as a screen.

Sometimes these kids get along and play with their toys.

Ever since Blake got Instagram he sends me random videos, like Bundt tacos. You know I had to try this.

Fun idea, but I think I'll stick with cruchwraps next time.

On Sunday Meadow made banana bread. We seem to always have way too ripe bananas or should I say just ripe enough. Brooke hates bananas with spots.

Ew. They have to be slightly green.

I just need to clean off all the dust from sanding and her room is ready to be put back together.

Yay to projectors from funcles.

Beaver Creek State Park Hiking Club (with a Layover at Frontenac State Park)

After we dropped Meadow off at school on Friday morning I made some last second plans to camp in southern Minnesota this weekend. Once we picked up Meadow we headed towards Red Wing. Red Wing Brewing has some really great pizza. The crust is something special. So we stopped there for dinner. Getting back to pre-COVID life is a bit strange, but we're getting used to it.

Brooke's Birthday Fish Fry and Many Minneapolis Walks

My actual birthday happened to be on the first Friday of Lent. You know what that means, church fish fry! One of our favorites is at St Albert the Great in south Minneapolis. Usually we have to wait for a little while up in the sanctuary, but we got downstairs to the hall super quick. All the gray hairs were out for the night. Can't blame them. The kids usually opt for spaghetti. The best part about this place is you get to pick two desserts. They actually let you have as many you wanted this year. In past they had two tickets per person, but not this year! The same gregarious priest as always was keeping the crowd entertained. I swear he wasn't back last year, but it was good to see him back doing his best. Theo got chosen to pick the winning numbers for the 50/50 raffle. The priest gave us a hard time for not getting a raffle ticket. Don't worry about me. Just daydreaming about a back screen porch like this. I made Brookie a brookie brownie. A Lovely Day

The time change didn't really affect me and I got up at my normal time. To Scott it meant sleeping in even later. While he was still asleep I worked on our meal planning and grocery list. Once I finally got up we were both ready to go grocery shopping. Brooke even had all the bags packed. We tried to figure out somewhere to eat brunch. We had decided Bad Waitress when we remembered that the Lowry Cafe has breakfast and we hadn't been there in a long time. Brooke ordered the corned beef hash special. I got the mighty big Jordan breakfast. I was full for the rest of the day. We mostly shop at the Seward Co-op even if it's halfway across town. Once the Lowry Bridge reopens we'll likely go to the Eastside Co-op more often. Via bike. As always ,Brooke writes our dinner list on the chalkboard. According to Sprout Robot this week it's time to start tomato seeds. I like that their instructions come with little drawings. ...
