Theo @ 11 Months

Theo is an eating machine. He still loves everything he's tried and eats a lot.

He just likes eating.

He's started using a walker and crawls and pulls himself up everywhere.

His favorite words are da da and na na.

Ma ma, pa pa. All the usual suspects.

He still has no teeth, but that doesn't stop him from eating anything.

Theo currently loves laughing at Meadow, pulling things out of the drawers, pulling down books, shaking things that make noise, eating, playing with water.

He still gets scared when people he doesn't remember hold him when Scott or I are not around.

He thinks saying no means it's a game.

He shakes his little head back at you and giggles.

Everyone always comments on how happy and smiley he is.

It's a front for his adoring fans.

He just started waving and understands some words.

Theo still wakes up 0-2 times at night, but is getting better at sleeping. Our early bird has turned into a night owl and doesn't like going to sleep right away. He takes 1-2 naps a day.

He escapes on a regular basis only to startle us when he pops up in the room your in.

He still nurses or has a bottle every 2-4 hours.

Meadow goes back to school Brooke's Always Productive Vol. 978

Meadow had her first day of school on Wednesday. Of course it also happens to be below zero.   Along with Meadow going back to school and needing masks, I also made her some headbands and attached buttons to hold the straps.  Perfect so her little ears don't get hurt. The kids requested Chocolate Rye Pancakes for this Valentine's breakfast. So sweet. In two ways. I guess Brooke got Meadow a Valentine's shirt. Nope, I got her the fleece lined leggings with hearts on the knees. She already had the shirt. Mmmm...the kids' favorite. You know it's cold outside when you can't see out the window.  Meadow was up to her crafty self and made Theo a batman mask. She made a wrong cut and patched it up otherwise it looks awesome. I made Brooke some peanut butter-peanut butter cup-chocolate ice cream for Valentine's day. It was delicious. When you live in a small place your bedroom becomes your sewing room. I also prefer sewing standing up.  I'm not sure if she's

Sand Dunes State Forest

Out of the blue we decided we needed to go camping. Being only a few days after the fourth we decided to head to a state forest. Most state parks are booked this time of year, so the forests are good alternative. On the way I got really hungry. We found a Culver's and ordered a small feast. Of course I got a blueberry malt and a bacon butterburger. The best of all malt flavors. Brooke and I shared cheese curds since she already ate leftovers.

Katrina and Dennis's Big Day!

I don't shoot nearly enough weddings . I'm just not good at the whole marketing aspect.   The one's I end up photographing are, like this one, family or through the grapevine. This time around I'm shooting my big (little) sister's wedding to Dennis, a man I respect immensely. I got to hang out with him a few times in Chicago and then a whole week in San Jose. I really looked forward to the bachelor party with the guys and wasn't disappointed. While the women got ready and after I helped setup the venue I came back to hang with the dudes and ostensibly get dressed. As you can see above we drank some beer and booze and shot the shit. My big brother, Colin, was the officiant and was really excited for his parking pass that was included with his ordination packet. All the women involved in the wedding gathered into Katie's room to get our hair done. Olive was just there to entertain us. And the bride is ready. At some point
