How To Do Nothing On a Sunday

Meadow requested banana split waffles for breakfast.

Well, we had no maple syrup, but we did have bananas and chocolate syrup.

She then showed off her letter writing skills.

It hasn't taken long for her to boast about everything she's learning at school.

Little buddy is a good sitter now.

Meadow can eat at a glacial pace at times. I guess it's good that school hasn't made her a quick eater yet.

Theo is also working on his army crawl.

While Scott watched the Packer game. Meadow and I did some shopping.

Will this team ever play a full game? Come on Packers!

We first went over to Michael's to pick up a new cutting mat that I ordered. I also checked out frames.

Then we headed over to the Halloween Store where Meadow was in heaven.

This made me laugh. She also tried on a giant hand giving the middle finger and said, "I have an idea!"

This would have been an awesome costume for Scott if it wasn't so expensive.

I almost got this thinking it would be an easy costume.

Too bad it was for little boys.
We made one last stop at Target to get a red outfit for Scott's Flash costume.

Back at home we all dressed up as super heroes.

Well, everyone except for me. My costume still has to be made.

Oof we really need to paint our place.

The cutest little superman.

Today seemed like a good day to knock things off our to do list.

We finally put up one of Meadow's shelves.

I picked up this frame for half off at Michaels.

That's our map from our first full-family canoe trek in the Boundary Waters a month or so ago.

We also had a pile of pictures sitting in our hallway waiting to be hung up since May.

First we had to frame a few more things.

Theo's first wild rice dinner.

I made more wild rice than the recipe had called for, but that was OK.  Theo got a yummy meal and we got wild rice soup from the Duluth Grill Cookbook.

I also listened in as the Brewers won a playoff series for only the second time in my life. Meadow wanted me to turn it off of course.

Meadow requested that we take down her tent for a bit.

Now she's got a little shelf, a mirror and her "M" right by her pillow. Now we need a "T" for Theo.

Good night Meadow.

Yardwork, Ikea and Pumpkins

My new parents-in-law got us a dehydrator for the wedding. Knowing we were going to be cleaning up the garden and going to farmer's market, we took a gander at our millionth kitchen device during breakfast.   Scott added granola to his oatmeal.  The oatmeal was rather bland, just the way Brooke likes it.   Scott was actually cleaning up so I had to take a quick photo of him as proof.  Scott told me he was, "putting a blanket down for Peanut," while singing. During the winter months peanut needs a warm place to peer through the window. Seeing as it was nearly November, I setup his blanket for him. Seeing as the farmers market season is dwindling down, we headed to the market...once again. The close proximity to the cities central farmer's market has to be one of the best assets of living in NoMi. We were both amazed by the bounty of produce still on sale. We quickly filled up our first bag and took it back to the car....

The Biggest Maple Tree in Minnesota

On the night before St Patricks Day, Meadow made a leprechaun trap.  Maybe next year Meadow.   Meadow was having a rough morning and needed a hug.  She wanted to play Zelda all day long. The rest of us wanted to go on a hike. We spend so much time getting these kids to get outside and once they are outside they don't want to come back in. Scott chose this weeks hike based off his current love of old growth forests. Wolsfeld Woods SNA just west of the cities in Medina. It's home to the tallest sugar maple in the state.

4th of July 2025: Our Annual Romenesko Reunion

4th of July, you say? Of course we were going up to Three Lakes and the cottage. I took a half day on Thursday and we headed to the cottage. Scott had to stop in Lindstrom which brought us to an old favorite for lunch in Taylor's Falls, The Drive In . Still pretty, pretty good. Even though it was super hot today, we had to keep our AC on.  This is the one time of the year where the whole family is together. Exchanging of belated birthday gifts it is. Theo didn't know what he wanted so he got money. Meadow got a new hairbrush and the Warriors Ultimate Guide Book. We all seem to stick to our greatest hits for the 4th weekend. Brittany and Jeff once again made table nachos. This is making me want nachos back home. Do we look alike? I think that with this seating arrangement that you can see how both Chelsea and Brooke look like Brittany, but Brooke and Chelsea don't look anything alike. The good place.  Blake already had a quest for the kids to do. Why does Brooke look this cu...
