On the Fifteenth Day Of Advent We Went To Santa Land

I guess this year Macy's changed the name from "Day In The Life Of An Elf" to "Santa Land".

The thing is they didn't change anything. Just a rename.

We let Meadow walk through on her own. Once in awhile I would bring her back to make sure she saw everything.

Even if it is the same thing every year it's still a great Christmas tradition.

As we were skipping Santa this year it took us a whole 5 minutes to see the whole thing.

Broken Bones and Labor Day

As you can see I am wearing a sling. Why you ask? Well it all started Thursday morning when I being the nice person that I am decided to help out Scottie and his roomates move into their new house. Everyone had gone back to their old house to get more stuff and I stayed behind to finish unpacking things out of my car. I was walking back to my car and thought it would be faster if I went in between a trailer and a van. Being the clumsy person that I am I somehow tripped in the process, ripping my jeans as well. Not thinking I had broken my arm I continued to carry things into to the house. My arm did hurt a little, but I thought it was no big deal. I had to leave for work. When I got home I noticed a huge bump on my elbow, I became worried at this point and called my mom. She said it was probably just bruised. I put ice on it as I was driving, when I got to the mall I saw the bump had gotten bigger. I was really concerned now so I thought I would go to first aid and see if someone there...

Money DOES Buy Happiness

I got a wake up call when I realized all the loans I took out for school actually went for school. I'm only working part-time at Menards now which is just enough to pay the rent and bills. My phase of being poor wasn't really a phase, but actually permanent. I took out another loan so I would have extra cash to feed me (being poor is the best diet). I won't see that money for another month which means no time off for a Christmas break. I have to wait a few more days to find out if I even get Christmas Eve off. This is by far the sadest Christmas ever for me. It doesn't even feel like Christmas. Only one house on my street put lights up, I'm used to everyone in my whole town putting up lights. Plus we don't have a tree or any decorations and we haven't had any snow yet. I did get a Christmas present from Menards, 55 dollars in Menards money and this. Why We Need a Freezer

We went out the night before to another party a few weeks back. This time Scott went out to a bar afterwards (I went home) and then decided soon after he got there to walk home. In his drunkenness he forgot to set his alarm and was almost late for work. While he was at work I did some cleaning. I did make it to work on time. The tweet above is the last of that night, thankfully. West Broadway was desolate at the late hour. Now that I've walked, nee stumbled, the entire North Minneapolis stretch of Broadway at that time, I have no fear of my side of town. I finally got around to washing all of our winter clothing after Scott went to work. Yup oatmeal again this week. Scott wanted big pancake, but neither of us got up on time. We finished planting our garden this past week too. It will be interesting to see how much it grows each week. I also planted sunflowers all along the edge of the fence.
