Meadow @ 6 months

She's finally figured out how to roll over from her front to back.

She's still working on sitting on her own. I will put her in the sitting position and she will try to eat her toes or reach for something and ends up falling over.

She's still trying to learn to crawl. She can get on her hands and toes and put one knee down. I think it will be any day now that she will crawl.

I'm in no rush to feed her solids.

She currently loves to yell in a really high voice, roll around, sleep on her stomach, grab glasses off people's faces, put everything in her mouth, yell at her toys, smile at people, and grab her toes.

She giggles when we make goofy sounds to her.

She's much better in cars. Mostly sleeps. She only complains if her diaper is dirty or is really hungry.

On a good night she gets up one or two times. On a bad night four or five times.

Her bald spot keeps growing. She's starting to lose hair on one side of her head.

Backcountry Camping with Kids in Theodore Roosevelt National Park

Day 1  Back in May I stumbled upon Theodore Roosevelt National Park. I had no idea there was a National Park in North Dakota and that it was the northern end of the Badlands. Usually our summer vacations coincide with Scott's work trips. Since he didn't have any this summer I thought we should take advantage of actually taking a vacation. What, my workcations are always classics? I suppose a second real vacation this year wouldn't hurt. We definitely have more time than normal. As long as we took Covid-19  precautions and avoided people. We finally settled on a time to go. Blake joined us so we borrowed our dad's van so we could ride together. Scott had just driven from Michigan the day before. Blake had met my parents in Wisconsin to get the van and then drove from Duluth to pick us up. I offered to drive since I literally only drive twice a month.  I was still pretty tired from a long drive home. Don't @ me for doing this, as the kids say. Our kitty has been havin

With Fall Comes Apples

Brooke decided to make breakfast for herself. I wanted some OJ, so I poured her a glass too. Bland oatmeal is just what I needed. Scott said he was going to call his mom. My aunt got back to me about attending our wedding. She was going to have foot surgery and couldn't travel. Sometimes I wish all my family lived in one area like Brooke's. I had to tell my mom. The night before I had my bridal shower/bachelorette at my house with my Twin Cities ladies. We had dinner and drinks at Psycho Suzi's later that night.  I was able to finish cleaning up before Scott got off the phone. My mom and I tend to talk a lot. I'm pretty bad a keeping phone calls short. Since we both had off and it was nice out we decided to go apple picking. I was really worried we wouldn't make it this year with the wedding coming up fast. We decided to go to the Minnesota Harvest Apple Orchard near Jordan ( the city, not our neighb
