A Very Boring Sunday

Scott is out of town in his hometown of Cudahy, WI this week, so again it's just me and kitty.

I went out the night before to meet up with some old friends from back home. I stayed out pretty late and slept in pretty darn late.

A lot of the food we got last week was gluten-free. I was a little skeptical about these gf oats, but they tasted like regular oats and cooked quickly.

I did add raspberries to naturally sweeten it.

I replanted new seeds to the squares that didn't survive the transplants. Hopefully the garden will be full by end of summer.

I was worried today was going to be pretty lame with me just tackling my to do list. I had started reorganizing my baking cabinet when I recieved two text mesages asking me to cross the river over to St. Paul.
I met up with same crowd from the night before at Burger Moe's for lunch. I totally wasn't thinking (must still not be quite awake yet) and didn't take any photos during lunch. I quickly asked Katie to take a picture of Ann and I as we were leaving.

After lunch I met up with Cevonne to go wedding dress shopping. I'm glad she's excited about it or I'd never get it done. We walked around her neighborhood checking out different vintage and used clothing shops.

I really liked this dress. Unfortunately it was a size too small, I couldn't lift my hands above my shoulders. My grandma is letting me use her dress if I want so I feel like I'd be betraying her by getting one that is two years newer than hers.

Back at Cevonne's she had me try hers on. I was suprised it fit seeing as she is 6 inches shorter than me. It's pretty, but not the look I'm going for.

We spent the rest of the evening looking up dresses online. I gave up on that and headed home.

Later I picked up Scott from the Greyhound station. It's good to have him home again.

Yup.

Honeymoon: Did Someone Say Fudge? How to Avoid the 57 Fudge Shops on Mackinac Island

We had to wait an hour but we made it onto the next ferry. I couldn't keep my eyes off the Mackinac Bridge. One of the Star Line Ferries actually passes under it. Next time we go to Mackinac, probably with kids, we'll have to drive over it.

RV Spring Break: Savannah to Miami

Oh, hey, we made it to Savannah. Time for a nice stroll (well, as leisurely as Brooke will allow).   I was pretty excited to be going to Savannah, even if we could only stay for a few hours. The tricky thing with having an RV is finding a place to park. The Fahm Avenue parking lot had RV spots and then we walked over to the historic district. Meadow should go to the Savannah College of Art and Design. You know, if she can get a scholarship. Savannah is just as cool in person as you think. I should have done at least one house tour. I had to embarrass Meadow with taking her photo in front of the first Girl Scout Headquarters.  Brooke got me to go into the beautiful Catholic church right in the historic district. I don't think I've ever been in a Cathedral Basilica. Usually it's one or the other. It seems like every few blocks there was a perfect square. We should build all cities like this. For lunch we went to Savannah Smokehouse . We ended up getting the sampler for 2, whi...

Sisters, a Brother and Walking Chicago

Summer always seems to mean one thing: weddings. Whether I'm shooting or attending, we're bound to end up at a few every year.  This time around we were heading down to Chicago from my big sister Katrina's nuptials. I feel like all our vacations are centered around a wedding or something wedding related. I wish we could go on a vacation without having to worry about being somewhere.   It also means a few repetitive trips down I-94. There aren't nearly enough unique stops off the interstate. One outlier is Foster Cheese Haus , the only organic Wisconsin cheese shop I know of. Run by the folks behind Castle Rock Organic Farms , we always try to stop by. Unfortunately for us they were closed on Wednesdays, but at least we got to spy on their darling garden out front.    Brooke and I arrived in Necedah. We decided to stop at Brooke's sister Brittany's home along the way to cut the ride in half and get her dressed hemmed.   ...
