Minneapolis Weekday Adventures and Apple Picking on the Weekend

Meadow returned to school this week. Our big 3rd grader.  We went to the inspection at our new house and afterwards walked over to Vo's for dinner. It's going to be nice having this place closer to us. One of our favorite places and now even closer. We left our house early midweek since our condo had it's inspection. While our condo was being inspected we went out for breakfast before school. I'd never been to Our Kitchen. We always ended up getting donuts from Bogarts across the street instead. It's always packed on the weekends. Was nice to get up early and get a table. Why hadn't Brooke insisted on taking us here. It's so good. Luckily we'll still live close by and stop by again. Note to self though, only order one pancake per kid. They're huge! We dropped Meadow off at school and walked over to the "Boblikin" woods as Theo calls it. A few days later we went apple picking. I am now all for the early apple picking. There's way less cr

We're Selling the Condo

We always knew our condo would be temporary. I could stay here forever but eventually Meadow and Theo will want their own space. Our next house will be a duplex with the other unit being rented out.  We had planned to keep the condo and rent it out too (and buy a duplex), but it wasn't quite working out with financing. Also realized we'd make a killing on selling the condo. Extra bonus: we'd get a nicer duplex with more cash down. We had been looking for places for the past 8 months, but houses are selling super fast in this market. If we actually want to make an offer we need to sell our place first. So today was spent getting the house ready. I've been working on the house every day since getting back from our week at the cottage. 12:00 Scott works in the kitchen I worked on deep cleaning the living room. So many toys hidden under the radiator.  Meadow ended up staying with my parents after we left the cottage. Theo was left on his own but I don't think he minded.

The Hunt for a Perfect Vintage Airstream

So the Fialas had been staying at our place going on two weeks. Tyler had bought the SUV, but he was waiting on the title to show up in the mail from the bank in South Dakota.  So, what would you do if your hunting for the perfect Airstream? Well, he decided, after nearly buying one near the Twin Cities, to broaden his search. He asked me one night, probably during a game of Madden, if I wanted to tag along to look at a 31 foot Airstream with the coveted rear bedroom setup in Algoma, Wisconsin. I told him I'd tag along, as long as we were going to come home with an RV. Scott mentioned he was going with for the day.  I jokingly said to make sure they are back before Wednesday.  The yearned for rear bedroom Airstream was a bit more ragged than he anticipated. While he looked it through and through, I checked out the  Airstream Classics collection of very rare and sometimes strange Airstreams. I really dug this tiny stove in a 50s vintage. Af
