Money DOES Buy Happiness

I got a wake up call when I realized all the loans I took out for school actually went for school. I'm only working part-time at Menards now which is just enough to pay the rent and bills. My phase of being poor wasn't really a phase, but actually permanent. I took out another loan so I would have extra cash to feed me (being poor is the best diet). I won't see that money for another month which means no time off for a Christmas break. I have to wait a few more days to find out if I even get Christmas Eve off. This is by far the sadest Christmas ever for me.

It doesn't even feel like Christmas. Only one house on my street put lights up, I'm used to everyone in my whole town putting up lights. Plus we don't have a tree or any decorations and we haven't had any snow yet. I did get a Christmas present from Menards, 55 dollars in Menards money and this.

In two weeks someone I love and care about very deeply will be in London for 5 months and I only get to see him for 2 more days. It's going to be a rough half year, but I'm hopeful. This is a good time for any visitors.

Next semester I get to start taking baking classes, I can't wait. Maybe I'll gain back all the weight I lost. For the first time in my entire life I'm finally getting A's and I actually enjoy going to school.

I wish I had a friend here that liked to do crafts as much as I do. I'm going to start devoting one evening a week to doing crafts and catching up on a lot of unfinished projects. I know, I'm a grandma sometimes.

Yardwork, Ikea and Pumpkins

My new parents-in-law got us a dehydrator for the wedding. Knowing we were going to be cleaning up the garden and going to farmer's market, we took a gander at our millionth kitchen device during breakfast.   Scott added granola to his oatmeal.  The oatmeal was rather bland, just the way Brooke likes it.   Scott was actually cleaning up so I had to take a quick photo of him as proof.  Scott told me he was, "putting a blanket down for Peanut," while singing. During the winter months peanut needs a warm place to peer through the window. Seeing as it was nearly November, I setup his blanket for him. Seeing as the farmers market season is dwindling down, we headed to the market...once again. The close proximity to the cities central farmer's market has to be one of the best assets of living in NoMi. We were both amazed by the bounty of produce still on sale. We quickly filled up our first bag and took it back to the car....

Thanksgiving in the Valley, the Fox Valley

Wednesday I took the day before Thanksgiving off and Scott picked up a job "on the way" to my parents house. OK, so Tomahawk isn't quite a straight shot, but it wasn't too far askew. I so wanted to take a walk through Bradley Park along the Wisconsin River during this snowfall. I'm not sure why, but I just wanted get to Little Chute. Both my parents had to work late. Soon after we arrived my dad stopped home between jobs. We hadn't eaten since breakfast earlier this morning so we decided to go out for dinner. On the way we stopped at my dad's shop. I love Mr. Mike's away signs. He's a busy guy. We had our first out-to-eat dinner of the weekend at Cinder's . Endless french fries and really good burgers? Yum! Meadow was confused that she got ice cream for eating all her food when we didn't. I agree Meadow, I want ice cream for eating all my dinner. Back at the in-laws I put together a super-...

This Is Getting Real: Babyshower Hour

We left Friday morning to travel to Wisconsin for our baby shower.  Jaspur wanted out as soon as we got in the house. When we arrived my mom said, "Do you like what I got you?" Then she told us we don't get to keep it because it was going to be used at Chelsea's baby shower.  My mom and I tried to find the baby's heartbeat with her stethoscope, but failed again.  After a long time shopping at Sam's Club to get things we needed for the party we finally got to eat.  Of course we decided to pick up a Sam's Club's deli dinner. It actually wasn't half bad. Once dinner was over I had to make cake pops while Scott made 3 kinds of sausages.  It took me the rest of the night to prep the Polish, Italian and brats. Meanwhile Brooke swore about her  distaste for white chocolate. The next morning we had lots to do to set up for the party. Of course today was the coldest day of the week. So, our backyard cookout had ...
