Thomas and Logging in Duluth

Thursday Scott picked me up from work so we could get to Duluth right away.  We had plans. Thomas the train was waiting for us in the Twin Ports. We decided to stop at Tobie's for dinner, we had always wanted to try this place. Meadow had been napping, normally she's okay when we wake her up, but this time she would not stop crying.  We weren't sure what to order and Meadow was just getting worse. So, we decided to spend our money in Duluth instead.

Duluth: Hiking Manitou Falls and Minnesota Point

With no visitors and no plans for the weekend Scott suggested we head back up to Duluth one last time for the summer. What we should have done was checked the weather first. It was going to be the coolest weekend of the summer. So much for getting to go to the beach.

Our Clothes Are Too Old?

Breakfast was going to take longer than I had thought. I forgot to add in the time for roasting beets. Meadow gets super cranky/tantrum city if she doesn't eat right away so I tied her over with a banana. Yesterday we spent the entire day running errands. Is this how normal people spend their Saturdays? The only time we have to go shopping is to get groceries, but yesterday we had to get a birthday gift, buy kitty food, go to the camera store, grocery shop and then we tried selling our clothes at three different stores. None of them would take our clothes because they were too "old" or "faded". Some of it was stuff I got before I was pregnant and no longer fit. I guess it will all have to be sold at the rummage sale. When we started looking it them ourselves we thought the consignment shops were crazy. While some weren't too stylish many were quite cool still. One of her favorite activities is turning the lights on and off and saying ...

Winter Camping for Brooke's 29th Birthday - Part 1

All winter we had plans to go winter camping, but because its been so so cold we had to keep putting it off. Scott was supposed to work on my birthday and last minute didn't have to. We decided this would be the perfect time to go before the snow melts.  I think we would've went earlier in the worst winter in recent memory, but a baby and sub-zero temperatures don't exactly mix.

New Year's Eve, Good Old Three Lakes

We got back from Christmas vacation Friday night, we both worked Saturday and so Sunday morning we were off again.  After having to drive back home, twice forgetting something, we were finally ready to head up to Duluth to pick up Blake.  We figured since we would be going to Duluth at the end of the week we'd take a little detour on the way to Wisconsin and pick him up. Ah, Duluth. I'm starting to love this city. Blake had us meet him at work and so we got to take another tour. The house was still decorated for Christmas. It was kind of neat to see it during the winter time. Blake even did some decorating. It was nice to see, but we had places to be. Blake made us stop at the library first. We were hungry for lunch by then, so Blake suggested one of his favorite places in town Duluth Grill . There were so many good food options it was hard to pick. A lot of their produce is local too which is pretty cool. I think we may have to stop he...
