Brooke Builds a Bench and Ghibli Fest at an Old Favorite

Melon for breakfast.   Meadow wanted a red bow for her hair. I used the scrap fabric from our M&M costumes to maker her one.  I kept getting ads for Studio Ghibli night at Pizza Luce. You know we had to go. Meadow got excited and dressed as Kiki right away.  You got to wait, kiddo. The trivia isn't until later. Meadow got a trapeeze bar from Brittany for her birthday. Now both kids love doing tricks on the swingset.  That is when we can get them outside. Also I've never seen our yard so lush with all the rain we've been getting this summer.

A Belalted Gift Exchange with the Fialas

A few days ago Meadow figured out how to crawl forwards. She's been able to push herself backwards for awhile, but hasn't mastered going forward until now. I usually let her play in her diaper after she gets up and before bed since its easier for her to move around. Getting Meadow dressed lately is such a battle. She does not want to stay still. This is her "you can't catch me" face. Today we had to exchange Christmas presents and go to Menards. Bag sale, yo. Scott asked for waffles for breakfast. I told him he had to make it while I took care of Meadow. So I made them. She's also figured out how to jump in her jumper. Fresh waffles as they were made with a mixed-berry syrup. It seems everyone was taking advantage of the 14% off everything you can fit in the bag sale. I didn't know today was going to be so nice or I would have suggested going for a walk. We got more than what we came for. Did we? ...

Practice Time with Baby Madeline

Again I enjoy my breakfast alone while Scott sleeps.  And once again I'm awoke to photograph my now very pregnant wife. I can't believe the baby could be here in as little as 2 weeks.  I'm pretty particular about getting the kitchen cleaned up before going to bed, but after dinner the night before we headed to Uptown and didn't get back until late. I got started on cleaning up.  Scott called his dad for Father's Day. Only to talk to my mother. Father Tuska was on an errand. Despite more rainy days than sunny ones our garden seems to be doing okay.  Cevonne and Jose are  moving out to Boonesville at the end of the month. They had been spending the weekend painting their new place. Apparently having Madeline  there was too distracting so they asked if we could hang out with her while they worked.  I'm going to miss having them live in St. Paul. We really don't cross the river too much except to see them.  ...
