Boring November Happenings

We went to Ikea and got way more than we were planning. Since we were across from MOA we had Theo get Meadow's Christmas gift.

We finally got frames for the Tuska family Hungarian Sausage recipe.

It's big pancake day.

Earlier this week, Theo came over and whispered to me that he wanted a friend to come over to play. I wrote a note for his mom and asked Theo to give it to him. A few days later and we were having him over. We told Theo that we had to clean up when we have guests over. He put up a fight but eventually vacuumed the living room.

Covid set Theo back a little socially so it makes my heart so happy to see that he's making friends at school. A year ago he was still afraid to go to a playground if other kids were there.

Theo also believes that since he was born in the winter he doesn't need to wear a coat or shoes outside.

We finally got new house numbers and debated where they should go for a good while.

We ordered from Etsy. Took about a month, but well worth it.

Our house is really coming together.

For dinner we had Theo's favorite meal that for some reason Brooke now hates. I either make a meal the kids hate or one Brooke is, "So, over!"

At least I made this kids night.

Then we had some night time entertainment.

Yardwork, Ikea and Pumpkins

My new parents-in-law got us a dehydrator for the wedding. Knowing we were going to be cleaning up the garden and going to farmer's market, we took a gander at our millionth kitchen device during breakfast. Scott added granola to his oatmeal. The oatmeal was rather bland, just the way Brooke likes it. Scott was actually cleaning up so I had to take a quick photo of him as proof. Scott told me he was, "putting a blanket down for Peanut," while singing. During the winter months peanut needs a warm place to peer through the window. Seeing as it was nearly November, I setup his blanket for him. Seeing as the farmers market season is dwindling down, we headed to the market...once again. The close proximity to the cities central farmer's market has to be one of the best assets of living in NoMi. We were both amazed by the bounty of produce still on sale. We quickly filled up our first bag and took it back to the car....

Work Trip: Scott Goes to Florida

As I mentioned in the last post, I had a job down in Florida at the tail end of the week. Daytona Beach to be precise. I proposed the whole family tag along, but they did not like the idea of Florida in the Summer. Anyways, after my shoot I checked Ormond Beach just to the north of Daytona. Theo is allergic to the sun and I knew he would hate going. If there wasn't four lanes of busy traffic, this town would be great.

Chicago Chrismukkah + Michigander Xmas

Before heading out on our trip we let the kids open their Christmas gifts from us. A knitted sweater for Theo and a kitty dress for Meadow (I fixed the straps for her) both made by me. I wanna a sweater. Scott got them new compact sleeping bags. We all got smaller sleeping bags this year and we'll now have a lot more room in our car. This year we had talked about hosting my family at the cottage. Then meeting up in Milwaukee, then meeting in Chicago. But in the end we made stops in Chicago and Lowell this Christmas. We left on a Sunday which was nice to have a few days to prepare. On the way down to Chicago we stopped at our favorite roadside restaurant, Foster Cheese Haus. We had plans to break up our drives so we didn't have to rush like we normally do. We had made it just before the cheese haus was set to close for the winter. Just not enough folks stop here in winter and snowmobile season is becoming shorter and shorter this far so...
