Meadow's 12th Birthday Weekend

Our little gal was turning 12 this week. That meant a picnic in the park along Minneapolis' Minnehaha Creek. The kids and I were in a competition of who could get to 1,000 first. They had to spend 1,000 hours outside and I had to walk 1,000 miles. To be fair the kids started January 2024 and I started January of this year.  They beat me and decided their reward was to go to Minnesota's Largest Candy Store.  I'm trying to loose weight, Brooklyn.

Work Trip: Brooke Didn't Want to go to Fairmont, Minnesota and We go to the Science Museum

It seems like Brooke was always ready to tag along for my hotel shoot work trips. Apparently Fairmont wasn't on her list of place she'd be willing to tag along to. There wasn't much around the area that I really wanted to do. After work I wasn't super hungry, so I went and got a beer at Fairmont Brewing Company . It's pretty rad that there's a microbrewery in almost every decently sized city these days. I walked by this unnamed food truck after a brewski. Also nice that there's decent Mexican food in every nook and cranny in these here United States. Incredible that conservatives some how think this is a bad thing.

Mr. Mike's 70th Birthday Weekend at the Cottage

Scott's shoot got cancelled so we decided to take another trip to the cottage.  We stopped for pizza again on the way, this time at Stone Oven Pizzeria in Cameron. We've always wanted to stop by. We went with the thin crust, which was good enough, but next we'll have to get their thick cut slices. When we arrived we were surprised to find that my dad had started on the upstairs addition. I wasn't convinced that his makeshift walls were going to keep animals out.  As far as we know they never did. Meadow always be crafting.

A Schools Out for Summer Bike Ride

Summer was finally here and we've all got bikes once again! When the kids want crepes, you gotta make them. Theo even helped me this time. Guess we could have used a bigger table out here.

Work Trip(s): Lost in Boston, Fenway for the First Time and a Sweaty Memphis Excursion

While traveling to Nashville, Dallas and LA were fun, shooting outside of Boston was my first gig this year that was truly exciting. Chinatown was my first stop after getting out of the airport and through outskirts of the city. Of course he goes to all the cool cities when the kids are in school.  I'd done my typical Reddit search, but it was an old school Google Maps search that got me to Dumpling King . Everyone in line waited, waited and waited. We were all a bit confused. This college dude had apparently ordered a weeks worth of dumplings. You can't blame them when you get 10 for $6.50 in 2025?
