I had two days planned for Doors Open. Scott wasn't feeling great on Saturday so we did what we could on Sunday.
Meadow was too busy crafting to join us.
I did teach her to make matcha before we left.
Our first stop was the Groveland Gallery. I was more curious to see the inside of the house after learning about it on my 1970's walking tour.
You could only see the first floor. It had been a gallery so long that you could hardly tell it was once a home.
There was a lot of traffic at the Sculpture Garden. We thought we'd go check out what was going on.
Some art fair was going on.
Next we checked out the Masonic Scottish Rite Temple. I wasn't really sure what to expect.
This was once a church, but was later converted to a masonic temple. The masonic crowd these days was very, very dorky. And that's coming from a self-proclaimed nerd.
I'm still not sure what exactly they "study" here, but I guess let them have fun.
We took the now completed Hennepin bike lanes back to Uptown.
The Granada Theater was once a movie house, but is now an event center. It looks like a tiny version of the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago.
Since we were close by, we went over to Moono Moona.
Uptown and Hennepin has lost a lot of businesses since COVID. I'm hopeful that more one of a kind spots start popping up over the coming years, bringing Uptown back to life.
After playing Mario Party together the night before, we discovered there is a baseball game you can play.
Theo played it when we got home.
The kids gave me their Mother's Day gifts.
These kids always make the best cards.
I tried my hand at a homemade meal in the Instantpot that we recently picked up. My combo of stuffed cabbage and peppers turned out great.
Just as good as the typical stove top version.
Meadow also made some banana bread with Brooke's many leftover bananas. Once they go brown we freeze them until we want a snack.
We signed up for our neighborhood rummage sale for next weekend. For the past year we didn't donate or sell anything to see if we'd have enough for a sale. With all the other items we've found around our house, we definitely had plenty of stuff. I've been busy gathering everything and pricing it.
Theo and I ended our night with our board game challenge. We are playing every game in our house to see who is the ultimate winner.
